JDownloader, just like the name implies is a simple application designed to help users with downloading various items from the Internet. It is simple to work with and aims to bring more stability to those who can't rely on their network for fast and easy downloads. It is modern and also includes many features that will help both simple and power users.

The whole idea behind it is to provide it with download links, which it can then turn into download packages for you to use. These are saved in a location chosen by the user, as you would expect. The cool thing about it that I loved was the ability to set a new download location for each individual entry within the application. Also, you can set a certain priority level, making it more or less important. Based on these instructions, it will quickly download files or leave them in the background while other more important ones complete.

The download directory can easily be accessed from within the application. A cleanup function is also integrated for simply dealing with the mess these downloads leave behind. Another cool feature is the download password, which basically secures your download and keeps it like that until you input the added passphrase. Thus, others using your machine will not be able to access your downloaded content.

While you can easily use it to download various files from here and there, it is best used with bigger downloads which have been split into more packages. While browsers include download managers themselves, these are simplistic and lack features. As a result, you can use this program to download your packages faster, keep track of them accurately and also become more efficient in managing your network stability issues.

JDownloader is an application I'd use with my most complex downloads, simply because it offers the security of not losing any existing download progress. The bottom line with this app is that if you like or often find yourself downloading a lot of stuff, it can help you better manage these procedures.
