The main window of Notepad++ displays the application menu and toolbar which give you access to the most important features of the program and a tabbed view of the text files. 

The Edit menu in Notepad++'s main window lets you perform the usual editing operations, but also change the font case, block comments, complete functions or words, etc. 

The Format menu allows you to convert the text for different operating systems, or encode it in a specific format. 

The Language menu provides you with a wide range of languages that you can choose from. 

From the Macro menu you can choose to start recording a macro, playback a recorded macro or run a macro multiple times. 

The Global Preferences tab enables you to customize the application's behavior according to your needs and taste. 

In the Edit Components tab you can select the appearance of the primary view: the folder margin style, the vertical edge setting, etc. 

The New Document tab in Notepad++'s Preferences window allows you to choose the file format and encoding. You can also specify the default language. 

The Print - Colour and Margin Preferences tab lets you select the preferred colour options and customize the margin dimensions. 

In the MISC Preferences tab you can modify various settings, including the tab size, the maximum number of history files and the file status auto-detection. 

From the TextFx menu users will be able to select the desired characters, access the fx editor, tools and more. 

from here users will have access to the installed plugins. Just choose the needed ones.
