Kodi (XBMC)

By now, Kodi (XBMC) should not need any presentation, especially since it is one of the most popular media players and subsequently centers on plenty of platforms, some of which don't even support it officially.

Either way, I think I don't exaggerate when I say this program has the power to transform any machine into a veritable power media center for storing, playing and perfectly displaying all of your media files, audio and videos alike.

One thing I'll always praise about this program is the level of customization it allows. Not only are we talking about app behavior here but also the aesthetics to a point where you might even have doubts it is the same program.

Regardless, I find the ability to adjust the program to look and feel exactly like you want it to be one of the best points and the ideal aspect that differentiates this media center and player from a whole lot of similar products.

One must not forget that with these types of programs, one ends up dealing with a lot of options that are meant to organize the content it is fed. As a result, all the favorite lists and the ability to improve custom playlists all of these options make sense and will ultimately prove useful if you have a lot of content to import and use.

I also liked the ability to custom select the image for each album or song so that the media center looks neat and organized. It does feel like Kodi was created by somebody who understands the differences between just another media player and a product worth remembering.

No matter the platform you end up working with, if Kodi (XBMC) is supported, then you know there are little other options that might be better on the media-playing side of things.
