The main window of mtPaint shows the application's menu and toolbars and a preview of your selected image. 

The Image menu enables you to convert the image to RGB or Indexed, to scale or resize canvas, to flip or rotate the image. 

The Selection menu lets you perform a lasso selection, outline or view the selection, flip, rotate it or apply various effects. 

The Palette menu provides you with a wide range of actions: mask all, swap A & B, dither A, view the palette editor or sort colours. 

The Effects menu gives you access to various effects that you can use to enhance your selected image. 

The Channels menu also allows you to edit the image, just the selection or the mask. You can view Alpha as an Overlay or configure overlays. 

The General Preferences tab enables you to customize the application's behavior according to your needs and taste. 

The Files Preferences tab lets you set values for the transparency index, the XBM hotspots, the JPEG save quality and many others. 

In the Zoom Preferences tab you can specify the maximum grid zoom, the grid colour and enable some other available settings. 

The Language Preferences tab allows you to select the preferred language translation.
