Thats what my tests have come up with anyway..
I like how it has all the "nice" features built into one simple program.
If you download stuff through lime wire or any other program's like that then this one would be the way to go because it offers stuff like this that the other free ones don't and as a real bonus it does all this in real time scanning which is very good in my eyes and as the same as other people by the readings here, over all i would rate this a very nice program because of its features but i would not buy the pro version of this product.
And from what I've been reading the pro version only offers a script blocker and also a new layout *which aren't that good) feature as an extra. |

The feature of this product is a point that the skin function is installed, and the skin of the
favor can be used.
The function here is more excellent in the point that shape is changed though Rising Antivirus is installed in a similar function. |

While using Avast for a year, I think, I have regulary scanned my pc with other anti virus software like Symantec , BitDefender Standard, ZoneAlarm Antivirus and so on, but they never founded any virus. With my firewall on and with this software activated, I do believe that I have a good defence against viruses. Light on resources! Avast is never dull, the interface is cool and it is free!

Now, I've heard Kaspersky's and NOD32 are the best you can buy, but Avast beats most other anti-virus programs, free or not. If you're willing to pay for AV software you might give them a try, but you won't find any others that are better than Avast. |

This is the best free antivirus and even better than some commercial antivirus. avast! Home Edition is no doubt the best free antivirus solution for home users out there.

It seems to be quite reliable with its regular automatic online updates of virus definitions (sometimes twice a day). I switched to Avast from Norton which took more of my computer resources than this program. Avast has very unusual but convenient interface. I have checked this app with several testing tools and it has passed all the exams. I have already been using Avast during several months and the only negative remark I can make is that scanning of my HDD (20 GB on one partition) takes quite time. |

| | GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | The interface is kinda clunky. It lacks some features high-end commercial packages, like NAV & McAfee AV contain. Despite these shortcomings, Avast easily smokes these bloated monsters as well as most commercial and all free AV products.
Unlike NAV, Panda, PC-Cillin, etc. Avast doesn't try to take over your computer under the mistaken impression that it should own your PC. Unlike McAfee, Avast uses few resources, is very fast, and doesn't crash if your PC on for a couple of days. I have tested every freeware package and Avast beats them all. It also beats most commercial packages for speed, low resource utilization, reliability, and most importantly, virus detection. There are only a couple of commercial applications I think are better (Kapersky, NOD) but Avast is FREE! I own several commercial AV packages, but I keep coming back to free Avast.
Hopefully the big boys are feeling Avast's presence where it matters: in decreased sales. Avast once again proves that even companies that own a market can fall victim to their own arrogance. Avast is lean and mean. |

| | GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | | I have been using Avast4 Home Edition, for 10 months it has never let me down, it updates on a very regular basis, it has a fast scanning engine, and i find it very easy to use the main point is it is an excellent free antivirus , i have used AVG and in my opinion Avast is far superior, i would recommend you to try this , it even has limited online help, and if you are the type of person who likes to try differnet Skins it has that as-well, but the main point again it is an excellent Antivirus |
