Its seems like a cool idea to implement an FTP client, an HTTP server and an Image view.
The FTP client is really nice because using the built in capabilities of Internet Explorer really stinks. And for the new computer it doesnt require one to go out and find a 3rd party client from a list of many names.
The HTTP server is nice too. Im just wondering if it stays alive after you close the program. I never got to test it since i had no use for it.
For the most part, no one will have use for such a thing, and find hosting with a webserver or use something like apache for a home server.
But its a neat idea.
The image viewing and the tools that come with it are nice too.
If you are someone who browses the web and always finds the need to take screenshots of browsing on the fly, then this program is for you.
The program lets you choose either a rectangular selection box or irregular capture area (as in, that icon of the dashed star in MS Paint). The program gives you the choice of exporting the image to file, to the clipboard or directly into the built-in image viewer. All are nice...real nice. I would only make use of the "to file" option. To much of a hassle to keep copying it to the clipboard and doing the work in MS Paint. The image viewer isnt my speed either.
As a pure IE Frontend, this browser really doesnt cut it.
It relies on those 3other tools (http server, ftp client, image viewer) which make it the "4 in 1" browser.
There are no features new from the standard IE, other than tabs and skinning. There are no options for the program. The only option are the Internet Options which come with Windows and all other front ends make use of.
If you are looking for an IE Front end with a lot of features, look elsewhere.
If you are looking for an IE Front end with an FTP client, HTTP server and some imaging capabilities, look no further.
At least its free :). |
