| Avant Browser 10.1 build 32 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | | This is a good alternative to Internet Explorer, but for me some pages would not load properly and I would rather use another browser, or even IE itself. |

| Avant Browser 10.1 Beta 12 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | None of these frontends should be rated lower than 4/5. They are all the same.
People are just too much in love with Maxthon and think its the best thing to happen to the IE frontend market. |

|
| Avant Browser 10.1 Beta 9 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | Avant is a great IE Front End.
There are so many front ends to choose from though...Maxthon, GreenBrowser, Avant, E2 Browser, CrazyBrowser, DeepNet Explorer, AOL Explorer.
For the most part all of the afore mentioned browsers (except E2 and AOL) attempt the mimic the Internet Explorer look and then add some more onto it. They all do it well...
For the most part all of these browsers give you the same nice little tools...
Page zooming, mouse gestures, RSS feed support, form filler, popup blocker, ad filtering, some extra crap on the status bar, skining, multilanguage support, and URL Aliasing to name a few.
They all do it the same...they all give you toolbar and status bar customization to the nth degree.
They all have advanced cache cleaning...meaning you can choose specifically what footprints to clear...just cookies, just cache, just the search history, just the IE history, etc.
Avant stands out in a few places...
It has options to set specifically what you want Avant to handle. If you only want Avant to handle .htm files, and let everything else goto IE (meaning when you double click an HTM file it will open in Avant), you can do that. All the other front ends either let you set the browser as the default for everything or nothing.
Right click context menu editing...really nice feature here.
The right click context menu when right clicking tabs is really nice too.
And best of all, when dragging toolbars, or columns, or whatever, Avant doesnt follow the mundane means of Intenet Explorer...as in you cant see the contents while dragging. So for example, have you ever tried moving the toolbars in IE around? You notice that as you move it, it just jumps around from toolbar to toolbar until you settle on a final position. Avant goes one step further and makes it like iTunes music dragging...you see a transparent copy the toolbar as you drag it, making it very easy to drop it where you want. Its a great feature.
Dont listen to those firefox dopes.
You will find a hundred articles out there that say IE is in fact more secure than FF.
Its pretty dumb that these two or so new security vulnerabilities are getting so much news when they have been there forever...its like a Security vulnerability in firefox gets a 1 second blip in everyones life while the IE ones get blown out of proportaion.
Just get zone alarm's free firewall version, get spywareblaster, get microsoft antispyware, and get bitdefender antivirus free version (assuming you dont want to pay for one), and just browse smart.
Besides...with every new version of these IE frontends that come out comes an improved anti-phising tool (something of which Avant comes with...though i HIGHLY recommend the one that DeepNet Explorer has). That will protect you well enough.
The key is just to be smart on the web...
FireFox isnt necessarily the answer anyway... |

E foarte bun spre excelent. Insa las la excelenta Maxthon. |

| Avant Browser 10.0.152 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | | Maxthon is better with more parameters, much easy configurable than Avant Browser. |

| Avant Browser 10.0.151 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | I tried this browser, but i quickly uninstalled it because there was just too many features that i would never use to warrant using the extra hard drive space of a reproduction of Internet Explorer.
Sure, its great. It has your tabbing and built in pop up blocker (which has lost some value since SP2 implements a popup blocker into Internet Explorer)...but there is just a lot i wont use just because of how i like my browsing experience...for example Im not one for tabbed browsing. Sure I can turn it off...but the more stuff i dont use the more this browser becomes a "second" copy of Internet Explorer wasting hard drive space.
If you are out for a great Internet Explorer front end, then this is for you. I dont need one so i uninstalled it. But it still warrants a 5/5 rating. |

| Avant Browser 10.0 Build 35 |
| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | | I would definitely rate this as the top browser available today! The download is relatively small, the interface is extremely stable, mouse gestures and dockable tabs. Pop-up and ad blocking are excellent. The ability to block ActiveX, images, Java, and more "on the fly" is superb. It is much more compatible than Firefox and the developer has advertised as "Fastest Browser on Earth". Over the last six months of extensive testing of alternatives to Internet Explorer, this one has got to be the "keeper" of the bunch! (Runner up is Firefox with Maxthon running a distant third). |
