good program

PROS:

I've used almost every video chat application over the past few years and Camfrog is definitely one of the better ones. The interface is clean and well thought out, and the server software is equally easy to use, being able to handle hundreds of simultaneous video chatters. Chat rooms are moderated using a tiered management-style permissions system, which goes a long way to helping make sure the chat rooms can be moderated 24/7. Video and Audio quality is also very good.

CONS:

Privacy-wise, Camfrog tracks all of your link-clicks in the chat rooms, and redirects them to Camfrog. Camfrog also packages 'bundleware' with the main application, and you end up installing it by accident unless you're eagle-eyed! You could hardly call Camfrog Spyware, but they do need to consider privacy a bit better.

Camfrog is packed full of features, is multilingual and very straghtforward in usage. The price is a bit steep, compared with other chat software but theres a free version with limited functionality, so you dont need to pay for it. Supportcan be very slow, and Camfrog is quite.difficult to contact. Also, links in chat rooms are redirected to camfrog - privacy is not its best feature, but very good overall.

No global chatting with FREE version!

There is far less free functionality than in other free video chat programs. After upgrading from 3.6 to 3.7 it is no longer possible to chat with users in other geographic locations which is why I uninstalled it :(
Friends of mine who sticked with 3.6, also received the message
"This room requires Camfrog Pro to chat". Apparently, the chat functionality can somehow be disabled via those chat room servers, rendering a previously FREE software into something useless.
