I'm not a GCCC user, however I have in the past used it, and is a very good program.
Saying that, there is one problem with it. While it does download the applet and all, it mis configs the Name (bio) line. This can lead to other members client's not seeing their thumb, and in some cases auto ignoring since it actually configured similar to the way most bots -- the really annoying ones -- configs their.
The problem simply lies in the prefixing number, which is including in the applet. For some reason, GCCC is removing this impotent part, as it indicates what type of picture it is e.g. 8: no picture 18: default and 19: Adult photo.
Since no number is submitted to irc.www.gay.com it will add 0:
This can cause some clients to either think there is no picture as it doesn't start with a 1, such as 18 or 19, or... this could be a lazy bot programmer and auto ignores the member.
Resent changes to gay.com has now made it easier to connect using many IRC clients, since their server is now more secure and these client cannot access Paid members feature, being a basic member.
The entire name line can be uploaded now, with out using sneaky things such as the use of the "null" character (GCCC un like chat client uses the one that "bolds" text in IRC, while CC using the color changing one. This makes GCCC standout in any IRC client that actually support IRC text formatting, as their bio lines are in bold.)
-- It probably a good thing gay.com no longer tries to impedes the use of 3rd party clients, cause GCCC stands out the most; for one, just being the prefixing number!--
If one of the developer reads this review, please by all means look into correcting the prefixing number so that it's not removed, and is sent through. if the project has been abounded, maybe someone can de compile the program and do some basic repairs to it.
Other wise it is a very good client to use with gay.com.
