This program performs really well.
Impressed me a lot.

Pay no attention to the guy from Donationcoder.com, below. Orbit is now clean, and a very good downloader, and they removed the "phone home" to dudu.com some months ago.

If only they would add an optional sound to indicate when a download successfully started, I would actually prefer it to FlashGet and Free Download Manager. 1 point off for that, so it gets a 9/10. Donationcoder and their leader gets a 0/10 for making bogus claims against a good program.

Be very careful if you are going to use it. The developers do not seem to respect users and online communities when they are promoting their products.

Downloaded and tested version 1.4.6 just two days before you posted 1.5.2??
That older version was contacting unrelated websites (www.ie7pro.com). The license was not mentioning such at all.
This very much matches earlier discussions that concluded that Orbit Downloader was "phoning home" at least. Or is that spy ware?
Such undocumented spying outweighs any nice features

There's a lot to like about this program. It's really pleasing, and only needs 2-3 changes to make it just as good as Free Download Manager and FlashGet.

HITS:
Easy setup and config
Light, quick GUI
Light memory footprint
Works great with Maxthon
Audible notification that D/L is complete
Removed connection to DUDU adware server

MISSES:
Absolutely huge program folders, 5MB
No automatic mode. You must click a button to confirm the D/L. Annoying!
No audible notification that the D/L successfully started, forcing you to check in the Systray.

Pay no attention to the cries of malware....I downloaded a copy from softpedia's servers and a copy from Orbit's website, and unpacked the installer (Inno Installer). The program consists of eight (8) registry entries, such as exceptions to the Windows XP firewall, user settings, and uninstallation entries. The program consists of 13 files, two of which are executables (written in Visual C 6.0), some support Dynamic Link Libraries, a few language files, and a couple of settings files. Looking at the installer script it is plainly evident that there is nothing installed except the program itself, and it's even certified by softpedia.com as being adware and spyware free, to which I can attest. I have only used the program for 5 minutes and it is already handling tricky downloads that many other free or GPL download managers are unable to download. Far and away the best freeware download manager I've ever tested, and a serious candidate to replace many of the paid download managers!

MALWARE BEWARE!!

This program's ONLY feature is pervasive false homebrew reviews and dirty publicity. It contains ADWARE (possibly also spyware) and connects to remote Ad servers. Already reported by some of our Donationcoder.com forum members.
