| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | The only thing holding this software back is the ease of use...everything else...excellent.
The software is great...but if you want to get the full value out of it, you better load up google and search for a guide to the software.
I think the software WILL work without having to do any kind of setup...but the guides will gives you great tools that work with this software to get better music rips.
Overall its a great ripper. It has a lot of settings you will never touch in your lifetime, just like with CDex, but who cares...trust in the guides you get from and you will never have to worry.
Unfortunately, since I have only read a single guide only 1 time i cant say what to download or recall what i downloaded. I did everything step by step based on the guide...but after the whole guide i got excellent quality Variable Bit Rate (VBR) rips.
There is this great software that is suggested you download that checks the checksums of your rips against a library of how the rip should come out.
So like, if EAC rips with the checksum of A1B2C3 or something (random string) and the library it is checked against for that CD you ripped is supposed to be A3B2C1 or something different (its a library made completely by user submission) then the software will configure EAC to fix the problem and rip it properly.
It works really fast and really well...and it does CDDB look-ups, and integrates the ID3 information very well.
3/5 on ease of use as explained above.
5/5 on everything else...GUI is XP feel, excellent features, excellent value since it IS free :).
Overall 5/5...highly recommended, if you dont mind reading a few guides (unlike CDex...which is pretty easy to work by ones self). |
