hi
I would just like to say that tool appears to have good features BUT IT ALWAYS GETS CRASHED as tool seems to use All available RAM and when it fills whole RAM it gets crushed when you choose to end recording , that is saving&converting. Only if i stop recording before RAM gets filled i get the result. Problem is that i can't monitor my RAM all the time.
nice surprise if you press " About " the prog......unfortunately no contacts available to ask about above problem. |

| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | R7C has never failed to deliver audio in wav or mp3 format from a working url or from a real media file from my computer.
Most problems I had when trying to get it to capture video were related to missing codecs. The free K-Lite Mega Codec package solved the majority of those error messages related to "can't begin decompress."
In all but a few cases, R7C has delivered a top quality video when I have a valid url. Most of the time the url should end in a .rm, .ram, .rpm, etc. format but I have gotten results a few times from url's that just ended in numbers or letters.
Having a broadband connection really helps deliver a good video because I redid some of the videos that I had done when I was on dial-up connection and they looked a lot better.
The best quality I've gotten was from using the "Full Frames {Uncompressed}" option after choosing "sound+image" and clicking on the "Video Codecs" tab. I've never chosen an audio codec but still always got the audio.
The avi files that R7C creates can be split, cropped, etc. with the free VirtualDub program. Most of the files that result in a 320x240 screen turn out very well when converted to larger or smaller screen videos using Windows Movie Maker. When using Windows Movie Maker, the "Video for LAN (768 Kbps)" option will give you a reasonable size file and a 640x480 screen size. One of the avi files I converted was more than a gigabyte in size with a 320x240 screen and Windows Movie Maker made it 25 megabytes with a 640x480 screen.
