I have been using the paid version for over twelve months and have found it useful...as in it works well.
However because you merely purchase the licence to update for twelve months at a time (as opposed to purchasing the program indefinitely), I shall not be renewing my purchase.
For the same coin one can purchase other utilities and own them, AND get upgrades for life.....ARE YOU LISTENING AWC !

I had this running very well indeed on XP and descided to take it to Vista, where its been nothing but a pain in the a**e. Like jhoyne, on one PC it screwed up my internet/network settings, to the point where a cleansweep is inevitable. On another it has deleted some DLL files that were obviously used, since as every time i boot up i get a warning saying that 3 DLL's are missing, i just dont know how important they are. Therefore, be careful using it on XP, but treat it like a case of VD on Vista.

it conflicts with too many items and has caused my pc to freeze altogether and on more than one occasion. i think this is best only if you deactivate the shield and spyware remover ((it calls many things spyware which arent , theyre actually working components to some products that on it detects. and u cant tell me its better than spysweeper or spyware doctor)). i also have found it, itself freeze not just the pc if its going over something to fix that isnt a mistake. its like it wont skip over it so therefore it wont move.

all and all its ok for registry but thats about it, and to me easycleaner is far superior. with all ive said is why i give it only a fair rating.

I started to write this review, then noticed the review by jhoyne says exactly what I wanted to say. I think the author may be secretive about what the program does because you can do exactly the same thing by using Windows options. In all fairness, I did not review the anti-spyware feature. I simply wanted to remove the program as quickly as possible! Be careful with this one!

Fast, Simple, Effective- Just as promised
Pros: This product is really great. The 1.8 version fixes and optimizes but the Version 2 (which is still in beta testing and should be released in August 2006) is even better. It allows the user to see what is exactly is being changed- it tells you the exact registry key and to what value it is changed to and as for obsolete windows services it turns off, it gives a description of those as well. Also included is a spyware scan, junk file scan, registry scan, system analysis (optimization scan), and a start up scan that tells you what programs you have in your start up folder that you might not need and tells you if they are good or bad.

Also included are the options for what type of internet connection you have so that it can be optimized. In the paid version, there is also an auto care setting and automatic updates. The pro and personal editions are basically the same functionality wise (in version 2 that is). And besides a connection type selecter, there is also a computer type selection for whether you use your PC for daily use, entertainment, top performance, computing, as a server, business, or general if you don't know and explanations for each option are given to help you decide.

Not to mention, there is a defrag utility called SmartDefrag that I am not sure whether it is included in the free edition yet but it has more options and is more effective than the default MS defragmenter.

Basically, this program is easy to use and great for novice PC users that want to speed up their computer without reading a guide to doing so. There is support if you need it too. Basically, I recommend this for everyone who is looking for a quick boost in PC performance and to fix system configurations and invalid/obsolete registry keys. And it does this all in literally about 30 seconds or less. There is also an undo function in it to protect your system. You really have nothing to lose by trying this program. Remember, it's free- so give it a try.

Cons: The only thing that is not so perfect about this program is that the Spyware scan is minimal and it does not offer real time protection, however, there is a list of known bad sites that are blocked by the security check up feature of this program (much like SpywareBlaster does.)

I was having some system problems. Mainly slow downs after running XP for a half hour or so.

I tried this little application. I don't know what it did when I clicked that OPTIMIZE button. I really wish I did now. Because the darn thing fixed my problem.

I wish I knew what it changed. I mean, how smart can some little program like this be? "Not very" would be my suggested response to that question. Despite other's comments of having problems with this tool, for me it fixed a problem.

You should always try software while being cognizant of the risks, but in this case this thing worked as advertised.

I would mark my overall rating higher than "GOOD," but the program's secretiveness annoys my sensibilities: if something messes with your OS configuration it should have the decency to tell you about the messing.

Think very carefully before letting this one loose. It arbitrarily disabled half the running services on the system. It completed removed the network and all network settings. It deleted all restore points, and turned off system restore on all drives. All of this on a single run - without any warning. Could not get the system back to it's former state; and no help from the Advanced WindowsCare (Intelli HyperSpeed 2005)with this - it could not undo what it had so devastatingly done. Had to format C:\ and do a complete system recovery. Wasted two full days getting things back to where I could do some work. I've seen some aggressive system cleaners/optimisers in my day but this one beats them all hands down. you have been warned!
