I have recently (Sept 08) bought a new laptop that came pre-loaded with Vista and Norton. Not wanting Norton and having no other alternative but to use the standard Windows 'remove program' facility, I un-installed the only program that I could see with the word 'Norton' or 'Symantec' in it. Having done that, the Vista Security Centre still showed that it was working as a firewall and as anti-virus. After creating a restore point (just in case) I downloaded this Removal Tool and ran it. Total success. No problems.

I just used an earlier version. Easy to start up and free... However it removed the setcheck (whatever that does) from my HD as well as most of norton (not Symantec goBack which is there but ubwrking). Now I get boot failure for normal and safe mode reboots. Yes, I lost a resource hog of a security system... but I also lost everything on my HD as I now have to reinstall the system :( Symantec was of no help whatsoever because the HD will not even complete a boot run. There went a few class projects :((

Tricky: to run you MUST remove FIRST working PcAnywhere 10.0, Winfax 10...

when i try 2 uninstal norton a msg show that path cannot be found...what can i do...

its a very good anti virus

I've just used the Norton Removal tool; couldn;t have been easier, and it appears to have successfully removed all traces.

Brilliant! Have been months trying to uninstall Norton only to have it keep flashing up at me and trying to get me to pay online. 10 mins after installing this removal tool - job done! I love you ! Mwaah!

This product won't download!!!!

I have spent an hour trying to download the Norton Removal tool.....frustrating. Nothing happens when I click to download from the basket?!?!? I tried downloading the installer programs....they are just BS filler programs that now clogg up my computer and dont' work either!
