| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | This program does exactly what it is required to do, it check/creates file authenticity fast; actually it is much faster than other products that I have tested.
It is very easy to use; it associates the md5 and sfv files and all you have to do to check the files is to double click the file, as for creating a sfv or a md5 hash, just select the file(s) you want to hash and right-click and select the kind of hash (sfv or md5) and that's it.
It's only flaw that it hasn't been updated for a while and the program crashes a lot (I don't know if it is just me or ??).
So to recap:
it is fast, easy to use, and FREE.
but sometimes crashes !!! |

| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | | I'll agree with the previous reviewer that this software should have a way to enable/disable the explorer context menus. The main problem, however, is that the software hasn't been updated for years. It is the easiest thing to use, but lacks some features and even has a bug or two. One bug I found regards the parsing of filenames which contain a semi-colon--it will do fine creating the SFV/MD5, but will fail in verifying it because it will assume the remainder of the line to be a comment. As for features, a lot could be offered, but what I'd most like to see is support of more hash methods--an Fsum with a shell extension, if you will. It's too bad Big-O-Software's website is not even accessible anymore--it leaves the ten if not hundreds of thousands of people who use this program with no hope of updates or fixes. Nevertheless, if you're not dealing with files that have semi-colons--I'd still recommend this program over anything else out there. |

| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | Great software, checks and creates these verification files easily..SFV AND MD5.
However!
I really get annoyed when software puts itself as a shell extension, IE: in the right click menu of windows explorer.
This has no way or option to disable this function so for that reason I would say try something else. My right click menu is big enough thanks to this kind of crap programming! |
