| | GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | WinKeyFinder is a utility that is BADLY needed by us at the Computer Clinic. We need a utility that will find the original program key for the various versions of Windows and other programs that require keys for installation. WinKeyFinder 1.65 and 1.66 works on the Win98SE system that belongs to the shop. When copied to a CD and run on other computers we get an error and no desired results. We would HAPPILY PAY for a dependable utility that would provide this information.
If we are not running WinKeyFinder correctly we would like the author to advise us. We tried to email his through the site where we found v.1.65 to no avail.
We rated this prograd Poor for Ease of use, Value, and Overall rating only because it did not work. |

A valid email was given, yet no password has been sent ( waiting 3 days ). No way to contact an administrator or anyone else unless you sign in as a registered user! The function to retrieve a "forgotton" password does not respond either. Extremely poor setup on the part of the website designer.
Downloaded and used to test finding Windows XP key and Office 2000 key as the author claims it will do. The XP key was recovered correctly, however, the Office key was not. The program states that instructions for further searching for Office key is available in the FAQ section of the website, which is a broken link. Unless you have registration ( which is unavailable ) there is no other info available on the issue.
May be a wonderful product, but the administration of getting information to the user makes it virtually useless. |
