I would have ticked the overall rating to excellent if it load as fast as 7zip though. I have three slow machines & its speed is significant, but not noticeable in a decent pc. |

Ive been using WinRAR for years, thinking it is the best product available...
Opinions vary, but I think TUGZip is the best product on the market in compression.
Seriously...
First off, it supports more file formats that 7-Zip, WinZIP, and WinRAR combined.
Not only does it support the reaiding and extraction from more filetypes in those three other programs, it supports the creation of and compression into more filetypes that the others combined.
TUGZip can do ZIP, RAR (you need to install winrar first, rename winrar.exe to rar.exe and copy it to the plugins directory), ACE (ditto for WinACE and needing the EXE file), TAR (via TAR32.dll plugin), TBZ (via TAR32.dll plugin), TGZ (via TAR32.dll plugin), SQX, 7-Zip (via 7-zip.dll plugin), BH, CAB, JAR, LZH and YZ1.
I might note that it makes true files...not just a file with the extension using the compression from a different algorithm (i.e. creating a . RAR file using the Zip algorithm).
Second off, it has skinning.
Third, it allows you to customize which context menu items appear.
Fourth...well there are so many to list.
I was happy to see that they have a function that lets you print out the report of the compressed file, exactly like WinRAR lets you do.
On a side note, because this program uses the WinACE, WinRAR and 7-Zip files to do the compression, dont expect to see any improvements over the original programs. Compression stays exactly the same (I tested it). And i mean EXACTLY.
I highly recommend this program.
