Given the fact that there is no way in hell this site(Softpedia) is gonna let loose with a free copy of NERO 7 Premium even though it is lavishly promoted on their web site and suggested for free download at DVD Shrink's site, but only after Shrink get's their money from the gullable (me). I honestly don't know how any of these "reviewers" got the damn thing downloaded. I have cable high speed and the fastest their server would download a 332MB file was 40KB/sec. That= 2hr download or 2 days with dial-up! But it stops short of full download;it only gives you a corrupted pile of garbage. All the links that loudly flash the free download are just looped links to the same shit over and over. There is only one link that actually hooks you up to a real download, a tiny little obscure line. This is Proof that "If it seems to good to be true then it is."

DVD and Mpeg decoders not included, you have to pay extra ($19).

I have been a loyal Nero fan for years. Nero 7 is the worst software I have ever used in my life. Nero 7 is a consumer product that makes me (a pro) twitch. It is unbelievable that they called Nero 7 an upgrade from Nero 6. If you have Nero 6 don’t upgrade!!!!!!!! You will hate everything about Nero 7 or 8.

I think it’s time to check out what Roxio has to offer. Nero 7 and 8 for the price and performance is just total disrespect to the loyal fans. Keep up like that Nero and you will soon be out of business. At this point I have no trust in Nero, and I will demand a free 30 day full trial before spending any moneys on trash.

BEWARE OF OVERCHARGE. NERO technical hotline charges $1.29/minute yet they charge your card $71.00 per session. I made three calls -- average about 5 minutes each and my card was charged $71 each time for a total of $213. That means that I would have had to talk to a tech for a total of 55 minutes each time for a total of 165 minutes! They are not that interesting.

I payed good money for this program but I have not yet been able to make as much as just one DVD !.

I have tryed ver 8 too ... it locked my access to the Control-Panel, and that was the end of that friendship !..

Well, if You want to have a program which works always & every time You need it to ... THEN GO BACK to the NERO ver. 6.6.1.15
It has never failed me !!!.

Repeatedly locks up my system. Previous Neros were excellent. This latest version ishuge and ponderous. It just doesn't work anymore. I am an experienced computer user, designer. I have tried everything to get it to work wiouth crashing. On one of the uninstalls, it actually took down some other progams with it.

They are just trying to do too much above what there original charter was, to simply burn disks.

Nero is getting worse and worse with every new version: the gui is terrible and the functions are not working. Nero 7 theoretically supports 5.1 ch AC3 sound, but if you have a stereo AC3 file and you open it with WaveEdit, the program unable to convert to multichanel format. The AC3.dll included in the package is NOT able to save in multichanel, but only in stereo format. The only good in Nero 7 is that you can select the components you'd like to install.

I'm using a purchased version on Nero 7 and it doesn’t work eider!!!!!
I’ve installed it, rebooted my machine over and over... and then NOTHING!!!!!!
    The program simply doesn’t run…

I sent an email for them, but haven’t got any reply what so ever…..

That’s why most of the “costumers” are bogus, no more purchased version of Nero for me, after this situation i’m starting to use cracked versions… it’s a lot cheaper, and if it doesn’t work, we can uninstall it for free…

This application was very nice, however it has become to FAT!
There is too much unneccesary stuff and too little configurability in the installation process (and the download process for that matter).
You can not choose to install Burning ROM without Burning ROM express. You can not choose what languages to install. You can not install anything without stupid scout and searcher and other crap.
I installed (to test) Burning ROM (always been great), Vision (buggy), Home (the HTPC media application, not even good) and the little tool called CD-DVD Speed (checks media quality and other stuff). It took almost 400 MB!! Complete install would take almost 1GB!! Crazy...
I will try Ashampoo Burning Studio for burning.
I already have Alcohol 120% for copying.
Thank good CD-DVD speed is a free separate application (it is very nice). Instead of Vision I will perhaps try Sonic DVDit, seams much better.

I bought Nero 7 Premium. after installing I faced some technical issues - some of the features didn't work. I asked for a technical support - they reply me after a week with no help. I asked again but with no reply. I appealed to the consumer support but instead of helping me they wrote: "Please be advised that we are unable to offer a refund, as defined by our terms of trade. These terms were accepted with the purchase of Nero from our website ..." they didn't even helped me!!!!!!! The current situation is that I payed money for a software that doesn't work and they won't help me!!!!

Full of unnecessarily features. Should have lite and pro versions for different demands. RAM hog. Use DEEPBURNER instead. Light but powerful.

Why Nero 7 is equiped wif unnecessarily features! It should be divided into lite version and professional version! So RAM hog Nero 7! Try DEEPBURNER instead. Less RAM usage and no craps.

Its probably the best burning software, just based on the fact that it gives you all the freedom possible with burning CD or DVDs.

The problem is that there is so much CRAP with this software.
Im sure the software isnt CRAP in terms of quality, but it is crap when referred to stuff that is just unnecessary.

I think burning softwares should take a page from older versions of Roxio (or Adaptec) Easy CD 4, and CDBurnerXP Pro. Just build everything into one big suite and let the user navigate.
I dont need separate softwares to do CD-Copying...Audio-Ripping...CD/DVD drive speed tests. I dont think its too hard to put it all into the Burning ROM program..........
