I guess that I should have looked on Softpedia first.... I just spent two days tracking down different versions of this type of program and trying them. All of the ones that I tried did not work, they would (GPF) crash. I did not bother to try the cpuIdle program because they want the absurd price of $30 for it.

The reason I needed this program is to run win9x on vmware, you get a performance problem where it is using up all of the cpu time while doing nothing/idle.

The vmware website recommends using \"rain\" but I could not get it to work, it was one of many programs that crashed.

Amn Refrigerator, works very well and the display looks very nice and it provides useful extra functionality that the other programs do not provide -- the cpu performance monitoring display is very handy.

The only limitation that I had with this program is that I could not get it to launch as a (win9x) service. This means that it is not active until after the initial login.

I just wish that it did not take me two days of trying lots of programs, to find this one. Give it a try, you won\'t be disappointed.
