Belarc Advisor is an application that provides you information on the current state of your system. It provides information on installed hardware, software, and OS patches/fixes.
While not as full-featured as some system-information type programs (like Sisoft Sandra, Everest, or Faber Toys) the information it does provide is more complete and more exact than those tools. I find it handy if I really want to nail down information on how a system is configured -or- if I want to check installed Microsoft hot-fixes.
Previously I've used Belarc Advisor on XP & 2003 Server machines and it performed flawlessly. This time just to see how well it is behaving I thought I'd try it on my XP Pro x64 machine and with the small item of listing the OS as "2003 Server" it performed just as well as if it were running on 2003 Server.
Belarc Advisor is one more tool in the PC administrator's tool kit. For its low introductory price of $0 its pretty hard to go wrong. |
