this is the 1st recording software i have used i got the full working version of 2.1 with all rights. i love it i have ben useing it for about a year and a half now. sometimes it shuts down on me but thats no big deal because it has that otto save so you can continue when you re open it back up not like others that you loose all your hard work..i give blessins to whoever made this program. just wish i new how to make my voice on it blend better to my beats..anyone have any idea let me know at guttahz_da_boss at yahoo

The best single general-purpose wave editor. An okay multitracker - great for its time. Other programs may occasionally do specific tasks better, but this does everything well, intuitively, and great sounding. Worth it for the noise reduction feature alone, once you learn to use it well.

Easy navigation, from sixty-minute files to individual samples. A wide range of good built-in effects, a convolution reverb, noise reduction, lots of import options (including flac and ogg with third party plugins), lots of export/save options, batch processing, directX plugins...

Anything more powerful, in most cases, takes a lot more computer power. CoolEdit works perfectly well on 2000 hardware as well as 2008 hardware. Slower effect processing, fewer tracks and less automation, but a PIII is enough machine for CEP2.1 to be useable.

If you can find SpinAudio's once-free VST-DX Wrapper 1.0, it is a marvelous addition. There may be other VST-DX adapters that work.

There is a version that runs from USB stick, called "Portable Cool Edit Pro 2.1", involving something called Thinstall, but it spreads Mr. Hardmeier's fame to the app data folder of any machine you plug it into. All good fun until someone loses an eye.

Just downloaded the demo of your site, according to the programme I do not have administator rights to install this programme and then terminates.
I do have administrive rights.and have tried all methods.
Is this a bug or not

Cooledit is a great software with directx support built in the software for adding lots of plugins.
I injoy making beats using single 1 hit sounds in the 127 track editor also using the wave editor to add on cool effects that come with the software.
There is so much todo with this program even ripp cds to lots of formats do remixing' remove click and pops from audio to even using external equiment to do live recordings' add in a microphone and add effects to your voice, built in mixer for the audio tracks and eq.
Just the list is endless with cooledit and it is a killer app that still rocks and out performes most new sound recording on the market' for as old as this program is, it is well worth giving it a try. Cooledit rocks noth said.

Cool Edit is still the best audio editing program I have used--even though it's five years old. I find it much easier to use and more powerful than Adobe Audition 2.0 or Adobe Soundbooth. (I only work with audio files.) I have also tried Cool Record Edit Deluxe 5.9.8, but that program still needs further development before I would consider switching away from CE Pro 2.1.
I used to use Cool Edit 2000, but that program no longer works with Windows Vista. I have used CE Pro 2.1 with Vista Business (x32) and Vista Ultimate (x64) without any issues.
Since CE Pro 2.1 is no longer supported, the software listed here is only a trial version. However, an Internet search on Marco Hardmeier or cep2reg.exe might prove to be very helpful to anyone interested.

This software is IMHO the best dang recording studio ever made. It is very intuitive. I rarely even refer to the manual. This software has everything you'll need to produce professional quality recordings. You can also download free plug-in effects from various sights that are compatible with Cool Edit Pro. There are even tutorials for Cool Edit on youtube.
Do yourself a favor if you're in the market for recording software and get this.

This is the best program around the corner for sound editing and Sound analysis and Radio studio productions!! I use it on daly basis. Sad thing thow - Adobe bought the soul in it. The best part of the program was its website at syntrillium. They had the fun. Now each time I see the orginal I think - Oh the old way was the better. But Anyhow.. I might be rude to tell that there is accually a crack around and ppl who like to use this version can... (thank good) Key word (mydaj). Love to the programmers they did a wonder full jobb and as long windows is around cool pro is also!
