East-Tec eraser is the best thing that happened to permanently deleting files on your pc, it has an easy to use interface and has many features that do what its supposed to do, excellent program in many ways!

Have been using East-Tec Eraser for a few years and was impressed with the results. I recently "upgraded" to the 2011 version. I run IE9, Firefox 4 and Google Chrome. The 2011 version doesn't recognise Firefox 4 and Chrome and doesn't delete or erase any data from those browsers.

I have tried to contact customer services by email to no avail. If they don't sort this out I will not be renewing my subscription or recommending East-Tec to anyone.

I have used various versions of ETEraser/F shredder for some years but the latest edition does not work well with Win7.
Win7 asks several times whether ETEraser should be allowed to run before permitting it. THe only way round this is to globally reduce Win7 security settings, which I am unwilling to do.
This latest ETEraser is also very slow (despite running it on a fast PC (velociraptor disks/i5 processor).
The user interface is crass. With the "simple" choice you just don't know what it will do. The "advanced" choice misses some important folders but only you can work out what they should be - depending on your PC setup.
The price is far too high. ET has gotten greedy.
On the plus side, if you have enough patience it does appear to do a thorough job expunging unwanted files. (Though you had better check carefully that it did what you thought you had asked it for (interface problem).
If the price were lower I would cautiously recommend it but only if you have time and patience on your side.

If you wish your PC or Laptop to be in good form, you must give a look to East-Tec Eraser 2010. It is able to clean them perfectly from all the junk and unuseful files which inevitably slow down their work. I've been using it for three years and more and must say it is absolutely reliable in this kind of job. You can find a lot of similar privacy software all around, but, believe me, East-Tec Eraser 2010 is the champion. It can easily get the gold medal.

I've defragged my whole disk and defragged the registry and done everything I could to get more space, but all to no avail.

And then I downloaded East-Tec Eraser from dotTech and hey Presto! 35Gb returns from the valley of shadow copies and deleted but not erased files!

After a complete disk clean by East-Tec Eraser my PC now has 35 extra Gb

I love this programme I also want to applaud the supprt team, I had a small problem with an update. Nothing was too much trouble for the team they had the situation sorted and just made life very easy fo me. I would defiitley recomend!

I have used this application since 2006 and I find that "it does exactly what it says on the tin!" The "Wipe Entire Drives" feature is excellent, especially when disposing of old computers and hard drives. I can feel confident my data has been destroyed beyon all recovery, and is no longer accessible to any would-be user. The back up customer services is excellent too.
