I really like it, the best thing is the installing, and setting up, if you used the program before (older version), you can simply copy mail boxes and configuration to the new, easyest way to carry the settings.
I use this e-mail client since version 5 nowadays I changed to 6, and I have some problems. First of all that I can hardly find support forums, knowledge database, or any information.
I have a question: how can I set Foxmail to use the templates that I made before, if I click to 'compose' doesn't use the default, always without templates, that sucks. |

Finally, an update! I was beginning to think that 10cent had killed the program.
FoxMail is potentially the best E-Mail program on the Web. It's light, fast, compact, portable, and has just the right set of features. In my opinion, a wonderful program is largely going to waste. I wish a more reputable and reliable developer would rescue the program.
Of course I wish for a good English translation, and a more rapid development cycle. A changelog with beta releases would also be more professional.
Try it, it's a very nice program, even with the obvious faults. |

Found some more problems, and though I'd share them (anyone knows if there's and english support forum or something?)
- While writing new e-mails, whenever you hit space button the textbox will scroll up (to align the line to the top). Couldn't find a way to disable this, and it's just awful.
- The old problem with word wrap was never solved, and is still there. If you type a full line and the word wrap skips to a second line, if you try to erase the text (using backspace) it won't get back to the first line. Also, sometimes, when you write a full line the text box will get buggy, and the text will sometimes get cropped, or all messed up. First characters get chopped in half, and stuff like that. |

I've been using Foxmail since version 4.
I'm familiar with it's interface, and recently decided to try version 6 beta 4. Never tried it before cause I didn't know about the trick to the english version.
A week after started using it, I already got some good and bad points on this new version, and here it goes:
Pros:
- It's pretty much like it's previous version, but with a very nice RSS support;
- New UI looks nice, though it's pretty much the same as Foxmail 5 with some colors, and options for frames;
- Importing content from Foxmail 5 worked perfectly;
- There's a new SPAM identifying filter system. Dunno how well it works though;
- Easy to install and configure. Was easier than Thunderbird to me;
Now, the problems:
- Mail accounts won't auto-expand and display when new e-mails arrive. This worked perfectly on Foxmail 5, dunno what happened. Sometimes, new mails arrive, popup warning shows up, but when you check the accounts, nothing's there until you actually enter the Inbox where the new mail arrived;
- RSS reader will display some links and stuff with chinese characters;
- Hotmail-Foxmail proxy seems to be the same as version 5, which is buggy and really irritating sometimes. In comparison, Thunderbird's Webmail plugin works far better;
- No way to disable popup warnings, which is bad specially when your running a fullscreen application (like watching a movie, or playing games);
That's about it for now. |
