I have used several anti-virus programs for the past 10 years or more and Kaspersky has surprised me with all its features, and its ease of use. It lets the end user fully customize the way it works, and thats what it does, IT WORKS!!! unlike McAfee or Norton, Kaspersky doesn't use up all your system resources all the time, and it Definately has a lot better Virus/Spyware/Adware/Nagware database than any of the programs I have previously tested. As for the upgrade from 5.0 to 2006, This Beta program is a great improvement, The GUI is very simple, the options are very easy to configure, but has the power of a very difficult to configure program. I do not see anything at all wrong with this product, I am looking forward to the other features to be released later in this beta series such as the Registry scanner / protector, as well as the Anti-Spy which is going to feature the Privacy Control, Anti-Phishing, Popup Blocking, and Anti-Dialers... By the time this is no longer Beta, it will be at the very top of the line in PC Protection software, and I recommend that everyone make this essential upgrade to their PC, whether it be in the home environment or in the large scale business environment.... I continue using Kaspersky 4 years. I tests all famous antivirus solutions, But I feel I'm safe with Kaspersky. I make most of Antivirus solutions updated and perfect security settings, After I infected by Malwares, Network attack. It's good.

i was supplied with kis 2011 by my bank as recomended by them for secure online banking , im having complete nightmare with it , the supplied version was build 11.0.1.400 , it started hanging at 28% when automatic update kicks in then drops to 0% ( using my data allowance) , i went on the kis forum and it was recomended to do a clean install ( remove build 400) then download latest version build 11.0.2.556 , ive done this and it is still hanging at 28% despite carrying out several suggestions from kis knowlage base . i have raised 2 support requests from my kis account and they have not even had decency to reply , ive been trying to find a fix for 3 days now , i pitty anyone who buys build 2011 11.0.2.556 .

This new kaspersky version is very light, even on my 1.6ghz, 1 gb ram computer, and is running very smoothly........

I changed some settings of kaspersky and now it's very manageable.....

Kaspersky internet security 2011 is the best out there, i just wish they would simplify the firewall settings/options a bit more.

I used to love kis version 7 / anti hacker, firewall slider bar where i could lockdown my system and be asked for permission for all inbound/outbound access, altho i do like the smart firewall and less popups,

I know i can untick the select action automaticly box to achive that but i would still like to feel more in control of everthing on my system and settings in kis without going through, 5 menus to get it done,

Anyway that aside 5 stars and a cookie, Overall its a top class firewall and antivirus. not let me down yet!... since version 7 (:

2011 now works faster, doesn't slow down my Windows as older versions did.
I found virus detection and its firewall protection excellent, while malware, adware, ransomware detection is still somewhat weak. Mail dispatcher option seems to have gone.

Uses low system resources at normal usage, while virus scan sends the CPU meter to 100%. Although, this problem can be solved by ticking the " Concede resources to other applications box " in the Advanced Settings section, Compatibility subsection.

I like the disinfection and system watcher options, though luckily enough, I don't know how effective they are as I never had to use them. Sandbox option for browsing, desktop and application running is priceless and saved me my PC many times.
All in all, a good one.

Fara indoiala, Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 ofera o protectie completa, mult superioara oricarui alt antivirus, datorita atat detectiei sale foarte bune, cat si a dezinfectiei exceptionale, precum si a unor componente unice in lume, Kaspersky Security Network, System Watcher, modulul HIPS etc. Firewall-ul de la KIS este foarte bun, conform testeleor Matousec, fiind singura suita de securitate care are atat antivirusul, cat si firewall-ul foarte bune. Ca specialist IT, il folosesc regulat ca antivirus de prima dezinfectie, urmat de alte cateva unelte, minimum 3. Nu il recomand totusi pe sistemele mai putin performante, din cauza consumului destul de ridicat de resurse.

Why this is happening when i run the full scan after sometime its stopped showing malfunction , the task was stopped.I am using 2011 version. Its happened also in my previous KAS version 2010

i never mind hoo!! are complained about the kis 2011 is very slow,useless,trash or anything, hoo comment like that problem in their system requirement, i use intel core i3 ,2gb ram also w7 i never had a problem in my system.

pritvi, about this beta build of kaspersky.....its the best beta available till now or the best version of kis2011......

but its the beta, ur license wont work, u have to activate it using beta version and there are some more issues left.......

but the most imp. issue left with it is the crash\hang of window 7 when viewing pictures and photos in windows explorer..........

and to know more about it contact the forum.......but i must say that other than that, all other issues are solved in it but its not official yet, so i m sticking with the 2010 version and i will advice u that too.......

and the release version still have some problems which will be solved in the next version (which will be critical fix 1) and then it will be a good version to install.......

now the rc is released as commercial........

but if u r sure of that risk and want to try the new version u can....

Kaspersky 2011 is still not released completely, its not on the kaspersky official site.....

there are still some bugs and problems left with it , and we have to wait for the fix but for now it is a good version , u can try it with the trial...

hey nandan, do u have wireless network connection enable during shutdown....

if u have, then kaspersky will take about 3 min. to launch at taskbar tray menu at log on. u have to disable the wireless network before shutdown, then kaspersky will appear normally.....like in desktops.....

and if u dont have the problem that i described then, please contact the user forum, they will help to solve your problem.....

i have been using Kas internet security 2010 for six months in window vista Lapop. i have been facing a problem , it takes times to appear in startup window below.sometimes it takes 2 or 3 minutes to appear. i have 1 GB RAM

the 2011 version is nice, parental control and safe run desktop are improved very much......

its lighter on system but still some bugs and issues left with it......
the next version or patch or the critical fix 1 will fix those issues and it will be a great version.........

this new beta build is still more safe and bug less than the one that u installed......

I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 for more than one year really its a good affordable product for my own recording need, and when I know there a new 2011 beta version I went fast to download the demo, but I was disappointed my pc started to freeze over and over so I had to uninstalled it and to restore my computer

it removes all the problems from my computer which nod32 and avg couldn't.......

and for the previous reviewer - the firewall of kis is the only firewall which dont need to be set manually and is on of the best.

avira is good for freeware.....but it has so many false detections.......and in paid ones kaspersky and nod32 (in my opinion) is the best ones........

norton is also good but its too much heavy and hangs the computer...........

nandan, if u getting that those two trojans are in active threats then it must be fixed automatically (since u must have tick the option of chose the action automatically and u trust kaspersky) and they are not check if the code is red or green which means if the kaspersky window is showing red colour flash or green..........

if its green there's nothing to worry about and if its red the trojans are still there.....and u must contact kaspersky lab forum about it with the screenshot of ur active threats tab.......they must help u.......i m also there as a member as i can find u and u must register there and post ur problem........

search google about kaspersky lab forum and try it and other time post ur problems there as i can help u in a much better way there.........

no thats not harmful, its just a notification that a program was trying to modifying anything which confidential to kaspersky or related to kaspersky in registry and was denied by the self defence......

if u want u can perform the quick scan or the object scan of just the c drive (or in which u have installed windows)..........

u can disable the self defence notification in notification settings to not disturb u about that such annoying popups.........

i m using kaspersky for 2 years now with licenced version and its the best internet security ever........and if u r mentioning about quick heal then i have to tell u about the false detection quick heal makes........

u must compare the detection rate and false positives of other antiviruses and u will find on every site that kaspersky is on no.1 or no.2 but quick heal is on 7 or 10 th so u can get from that. And if u are still confused then use quick heal for few days u will understand the difference i m talking about.
some of my friends r using quickheal and they r infected by some latest threats that quick heal cannot detect.............(namely net.worm.kido and worm.win32.VB)...............

Ihave been using KASPERSKY 2010 for one months ( Full version). But yester day it makes me doudtful whent it dont show virus in C-Drive(Vista) after scanning . But do the same with Qick heal internet security through internet it detects viruses. So I hereby request the clear my dout about kaspersky internet security 2010 by someone. Otherwise I will use another Internet security product.

Be aware that KIS 2010 (current version 9.0.0.736) is not full compatible with Windows 7 (despite what they say), I bought a 3-user license and never be able to finish an installation with success (money lost). Support sucks, they never propose solution or even a workaround. They know they have issues with their Driver (similar to Vista problems in the past) installation under Windows 7, but they keep selling a not fully tested product. Try before you buy! If a version works fine in the past it doesn't mean it should be working fine in the present, I've learned the lesson and I'm returning to Avira greatest antivirus.

The reason I use Kaspersky instead of any other antivirus protection is that it does not slow down my computer. However, with 2010, my computer runs very slow. I had to take it off my computer and reload 2009. They need to work on fixing the problem as well as giving better support as they never responded to any of my emails to help me out.

Good but not the best. Good detection rate, few false positives, but 9th version become "a washing machine with toaster, TV and Internet connection". New clownish GUI and bugs shows that Kaspersky Lab choosed a wrong vector of development.

I have error on Internet Download Manager after installing Kaspersky Internet 2010. Internet Download Manager fails to connect each time I used it to download a file from internet.

Kaspersky Internet Security plus outmost firewall pro i m using and in my review i will say that its the best combination as i can pause my kis protection during internet connection if it uses too much memory, so if outpost firewall pro is on which uses minimal amout of cpu and memory is on then nothing to afraid of net but i normally keep the kis on during surfing........

i was kaspersky internet security latest version for last 2 months and i always used to turn it off when not needed.... Once by mistake i connected my friends pen drive without started kaspersky... n my comp got virus... after that i scanned that pen drive and even my comp i cleaned eveything... next day i went to update my kaspersky it was giving error message "nework failure"...
i thought kaspersky sever might be down... next day again same problem... so i opened my browser and typed kaspersky.com but it was saying address not found... rest all sites were opening perfectly... then i tried bitdefender.com and all the antivirus sites bot same problem... then i tried opening those sites from UBUNTU.... there all sites were opening perfectly... even kaspersky.com....
All settings of firewall n all were perfect....
i thought that there is still virus on my comp...
so i installed norton internet security 2009....
and i was write... there was virus in system32 folder....
now everything is fine......

i m using it for about 8 months i am truly impressed by it, if u care so much for your data and pc then never shut it down as it dont scan the registry. two times i have done that mistake to pause the protection and both times i have to format as it effectively deletes the virus but the spyware in registry replicate itself and come back again and again. also it never gives false warning 99.9% of it warning are true so never take it lightly as false. It's the best anti-virus software, but it's a little bit expensive

I used trial version and found it so simply and user frendly.
Then i bought KIS 2009 3 user for RM 149.00 at the Computer store.
My first installation is to my New Laptop and it works until today. Second I install it to my Desktop and it olso works fine untill now. The 3rd I install it to my 2nd Laptop but it's work about a month. After then it seem to catch to many virus and make my laptop become slower and slower. Then I format my hard disk and re install everything included the KIS 2009. I've try and now is the third day tryting it seems the personel ID and the password given by lab kept saying that the date was incorect. What should i do to reinstall my kaspersky. Please assist.

Definitely an improvement over KIS 7. Easier to use and scanning time is faster. Parental controls is improved also. Even tells you that some installed programs have known vulnerabilites and a link to a web page outlining it if you are interested. I have tried other solutions such as Norton IS 2008 and I much prefer Kaspersky.

KIS2009 is a solid suite, with the following characteristics:
- Easy installation and removal;
- Uses few resources, HDD and RAM;
- Is fast, faster than older versions, comparable to Avira or Nod32;
- Contains all the usual components of a suite;
- Good detection, certified in various tests (AV comparative, etc.)

I use avira premium security suite. I switched to kaspersky for a change and i found a lot of problems. Many softwares that i use were having problems with kaspersky internet security 2009 especially internet download manager, dumeter etc. Also when i manually scanned the pc it took almost 3 hours for the whole scan of my pc. avira takes only 35 minutes. Features are many but still resource utilization is very high. i liked the gui and it is easy to use bt i won't recommend it to anyone. my rating is 2 out of 5

It's the security suite with the best detection and fastests updates. Version 8.0 is even 50% faster in scanning and uses less resources.

I have used Bitdefender, Avira, Avast, AVG and this is best of them. It doesn't use much resources and doesn't let viruses and spyware to enter in computer. Only interface is not pretty. It doesn't scan for too long.

The application runs as a service preventing problems on-the-fly and has the typical file & e-mail scanner of similar complete packages like Norton AV, McAfee or Computer Associates AV packages.

Kaspersky does things just a little big differently, though. You get all the same features of those heavy-weights without the heavy-weight drain on system resources while Kaspersky is running and you get Kaspersky's legendary detection capabilities in a package that is light on resources and the wallet.

One thing to pay attention to is that it is easy to launch multiple system scans simultaneously and not realize they are all running. While this won't hurt anything, and may be desired if for say you are doing a full system scan and want to scan a particular sub-directory without waiting for the full scan to get there, it can be launched unintentionally by the careless user and place more of a performance drain than necessary on the system.

The software protects well, but doesn't get in the way like some packages (read Trend Micro).

You won't find finer protection. I suggest you give it a try and see why Kaspersky is the legend that they are.

I have used several anti-virus programs for the past 10 years or more and Kaspersky has surprised me with all its features, and its ease of use. It lets the end user fully customize the way it works, and thats what it does, IT WORKS!!! unlike McAfee or Norton, Kaspersky doesn't use up all your system resources all the time, and it Definately has a lot better Virus/Spyware/Adware/Nagware database than any of the programs I have previously tested. As for the upgrade from 5.0 to 2006, This Beta program is a great improvement, The GUI is very simple, the options are very easy to configure, but has the power of a very difficult to configure program. I do not see anything at all wrong with this product, I am looking forward to the other features to be released later in this beta series such as the Registry scanner / protector, as well as the Anti-Spy which is going to feature the Privacy Control, Anti-Phishing, Popup Blocking, and Anti-Dialers... By the time this is no longer Beta, it will be at the very top of the line in PC Protection software, and I recommend that everyone make this essential upgrade to their PC, whether it be in the home environment or in the large scale business environment....
