Mac, Windows and Linux - BIG ADVANTAGE that the same KeePass data file can be accessible ON ALL 3 OS systems, i.e. just carry it on your USB, plug it in to any computer and it WORKS. I have never had corrupted file problem.

Version 2.xx is using the crappy .net component which make this software horribly slow and memory hungry (about 50mb ram usage and between 10 and 20 sec to launch on my rig : useless). The GUI need improvement : this app definitely need entries to be put in the left pane (like any password or password keeper).

Others free softwares are better than this. Too bad, many programmers are using .net theses days. They must have forgotten what you can do with 1k memory. Personnaly, I don't even try .net applications.

It is too slow - takes about 30 seconds to start. The only good thing is that it is free.

Today my database is corrupted. It is not on a portable disk and was shut down properly. Would be great if it worked by it is worse than useless since I now have to reconstruct everything that was in there. Grrr!

Very good program. I love all features and it does what it's meant for. The program is updated frequently. I use the USB-drive/standalone version of the product. Using this version you can take take your passwords with you while travelling. My passwords are protected using keyfile plus master password but you can also use one of these options, The plugins make it possible to use the auto-type feature, import database from different paasword-managers, reliably backup the database etc. I trust KeePass with all kinds of passwords ranging form bank pin-codes, email passwords to passwords from social fora. I only miss one thing and that is the option to automatically backup the password-database to a (non-public) internet location to prevent loss of passwords left at home (for example in case of fire).

AutoType is the key feature here - and unfortunately it simply doesn't work reliably. It seems to work well in most standard windows applications - but browsers are highly hit or miss. IE7, IE8, FF3 are all but incompatible with autotype.

If you don't mind drag/dropping user/pw or some other goofy gyration - then you'll be ok. But if AutoType doesn't work, why bother?

BEWARE I have been using Keepass for about a week now and I thought I loved the program since it really made my life easier. However, I am now in a panic looking for a solution to restore the database that somehow became corrupted and un-usable. I am now locked out of every one of my online accounts including my bank account, paypal, ebay and many more. Even though I had printed out the db prior to it crashing, when i actually looked at the pages, the password section runs clear off the right hand side of the page and only displays the first few digits of each password. I should have checked the printed page immediately after printing, but I didn\'t and now I\'m paying the price for trusting Keepass with all of my passwords. I even backed up the program to my memory stick, and it doesnt work either. since the built in recovery mode does absolutely nothing, I am now faced with many hours of frustrating work trying to recover all of my passwords the hard way. Thanks a lot for ruining my life Keepass.

    Love it! Simple as that!
I have tested a few and KeePass is the simpliest to use. I like having a simple file to use for my backups.

Constantly creates a database which is absolutely corrupted everytime. Has proven the case on a variety of different systems. I am done with this garbage and it is time to spend some money on something solid!

Amazing program. It has all necessary functions and the user interface is very intuitive and well designed. Main functions are:

    -open source
-main password and password key login ( that can be in cd-rom i.e. )
    -efficient password generator
-simple folders for different password groups
-import/export for various formats i.e. html
    -etc...

    Highly recommended!

This program is almost perfect. It does what it says and has no unnecessary features. Some people have lost data but it very easy not to, just backup the files everytime you save them. I have never lost data and never had corrupted databases. Very nice auto type functions.

I have used a number of other password databases. This is absolutely the best one I have ever used. I have only been using it for about 3 weeks, but, so far, I haven't found anything I don't like. I have been slowly transfering all my passwords from ohter databases to "KeePass Password Safe". Love it!

What a fantastic little program. I have been searching for a good password storage manager for awhile and was willing to pay for good software but I just couldn't find anything I liked. Then I discovered KeePass. It has all the features I need including search, autofill using hotkey, autolock, password generator and it even has a quality indicator which will show how secure your passwords are. I love it and best of all its free.

I just love it! Nowadays I have no reason to be afraid of forgetting my passwords. I also generate all of them randomly, so no more those tricky generating methods :)
