Seems Lunascape is not the only one that has three rendeirng engines. Avant browser is your new competitor.Let's see who will be better.

Lunascape has become my favorite browser, if only because it allows you to multitask quite easily...typing in a new URL opens a new tab and doesn't blow away what you are looking at. You'll get used to that (and appreciate it ) very quickly. To address the "why bother putting IE as an engine" questions - I suppose because certain programs (hello Sharepoint) don't play well with other browsers. Set those sites up to open with Trident (you can set it to do this whenever you browse to the page) and you'll never get the errors or display problems. It's plenty fast for what I do...and I can download all the Firefox add in's that I am accustomed to seeing (ad block, etc). Overall a great browser

Well I'm sorry but Ive used almost every damn browser available for win7 Pro and my old xp pro. Until this last try with Lunascape, now here's the unbiased facts: Explorer 9 is fantastic, and now my 2nd choice is Lunascape.....make sure you run it on Trident and it will scare the hell out of you when you use explorer's engine. It's fast, efficient and does everything the other's CANT do. Google Chrome slows down after 10 minutes in a social network, Firefox keeps crashing in a chatroom and the others......well good luck!!!!!!!!LUNASCAPE IS FANTASTIC (Oh and I build computers so I assure you this is a fact)

My advice is not to install this program because it will mess up your windows user profile and as a result, you cannot logon to windows anymore.
If you do want to have a try, BACKUP every thing first, or you wll be regreted!!

Hello again. After my last try with this software I thought that I would give the newest version a new try and see if it has made some improvements from the past or not. And behold my verdict

Lunascape is a very bad browser. One can be easily fooled into downloading this software as it is advertised as a single browser with the built in search engines of the three most popular browsers worldwide to date. But, having the same search engines as the most popular browsers does not guarantee an equal performance as those browsers provide. You learn it the hard way with Lunascape. The browser itself is still very clumsy and limited even in the most essential of browsing ‘must-haves’. No add-blocking add-ons, no download manager compatibility and no ease of use. Switching between engines can sometimes take an age depending on simply the mood of this browser.

This browser is as much as a modern evolution as buying ice-cream from the Grocery store rather than a van. To be able to use Trident (Internet Explorer search engine) you need to have internet explorer already installed. So, as it burrows Trident from your internet explorer, then it is only as good as your already installed version of IE is. I downloaded the Standard installation and during installation, I had to wait more than ten minutes because it had to download the Gecko engine before it could continue to install Lunascape on my PC. Maybe the Extended version does not have this, but then what was the point of having a standard one in the first place then?

For such a highly advertised, three engine browser, it is really a big disappointment. All the three browsers this represents (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox) perform better and faster than Lunascape at any given point not to also mention that they are far easier to use. The browser displays as many advertisements as they are capable of putting on a single page. To add to the lack of an ad Blocker, it also has no ActiveX and java controls so that you can at least have some control over the scripts of a page and stop ads from playing automatically.
I don’t want to be the Novelist, so I will not write more. My one and only advice: Do not waste your time with this software.

By the way, I am using a multiple OS Dual Core Processor pc with 8GB RAM and tonnes of free hard disk space.

It works as terrible on both my Windows XP and my Windows 7.

Lunascape isn't as good as i thought it would be.First of all the the whole thing practically freezes momentarily while it uploads a web-page.So your stuck doing nothing until the page uploads.Firefox can load a million pages and it doesn't even freeze for a sec.The list of commands are cheaply put together, apparently in lunascape terms, the word 'new window' and 'new tab' shares the same meaning. There are so many buttons for you to click to change something that it makes everything 3 steps more complicated.Plus all those buttons could have easily been put on the top right hand side of the menu or simply generalized under 4 or 5 main titles. This looks like someone took a carbon copy of internet explorer and added more buttons that does the same things.

Why do they put an internet explorer renderer there anyways?More than 75% of the world uses windows which already comes with a free internet explorer, and already 75% of people using internet explorer have switched to Firefox. To add to this, many video and game playing sites have difficulties to perform well with this browser.Only popular sites like youtube etc, will work on this.On one site i forwarded a video and i was left listening to the beginning audio and the audio i forwarded to at the same time.

Having more renderers on one browser is the only good thing about this, even one of the redenrers already comes free with all windows software. The other 2 are garbage. This is just a more complicatedly pointless version of internet explorer in a brand new box.I recommend it for speed but nothing more or less.

    easy to migrate bookmarks
    easy to install/unistall

    (-)
    no built-in AdBlock feature
couldnt find out how to use plugins (plugin web site in japanese)
several web navigation limitations (e.g. cannot open link in new tab without using keyboard)

    Summary:
I would recommend to use it for web developers. The browser maybe not so good for regular users.

Dear Sir.the latest version of Lunascape6.0.3 is an excellent piece of browser i have ever come across. It faster than Firefox and still faster than Chrome with webkit engine.Almost all firefox add-ons are compatible with Lunascape .Webkit addons are to be made compatible.Except that it is really great .It is not getting due recognition which it actually deserve. If one anyone tries it ,he will not discard it for ever.

This is an complete feature rich browser. As good as they are, Firefox, Chrome and Opera can not touch this multi engine browser. My only issue with it, is the inconsistent funtionality of the Yahoo toolbar.

Sir, I have been using Lunascape for the last 3months and is an excellent browser with many features and good interface. It is faster than Firefox with Gecko Engine ,particularly version 6.0.2.20341.I don't why you are not assigning proper rating. If one can try Firefox and Lunascape 6.0.2 side by side,he can understand how fast it .is.It loads faster than Firefox and it's score under Acid3 Tests better than Firefox and Sunspider test also.I have completely switched over to Lunascape from Firefox.

    . . .

As User Alex says, this Program SHOULD BE RATED very much HIGHER.

When I installed it a month ago, I thought it would slow down my old machine and run sluggishly on it. To my amazement and utter joy, it did not, and instead opened page after page of 'hard-to-open' Websites that most of my other Browsers (and my OS & my DSL) have had a hard time with--e.g. Cnn/Ymail/MSN/etc--with pure ease & speed that I couldn't believe my eyes! :D

As I said in another Browser Review, I intended to keep searching for a Web Browser till I found one I could 'feel comfortable (& safe)' with...well, this baby is it! I'm done looking around. From here on in, it's just going to be these 3 Browsers for me--Lunascape, Max, and TheWorld..in that order .. once in a while though, I'll 'open up' good old IE6, just so he knows I still care.
    . . .

Hey people..download and install this software now while it's STILL FREE .. if you put it off too long, it may no longer be :p
    . . . .

Thank you Softpedia for posting this fine product on your Site .. you'll never begin to know how utterly happy you've made this old, young-at-heart, and trying-hard-to-be-hi-tech, lady!! :)

To be honest, I don't know why this browser has such a low rating. This is a very good browser with great features and functionality, the negative would be the drain on your system resources. It should be rated higher, as in the category of or greater than Maxthon 2, SlimBrowser and Avant; but just a notch below Firefox and Opera.
