I Love ESET NOD32 Is My Favor AV Fast And Effective !!!

ive used avira kaspersky and others after i infected my pc on my own.they all did detect many but maximum detection was from nod32.. the new smart security is also good if the firewall is well configred. all those who said that eset spends money to buy awards and advertise seems to be the agents of other av companies.ive seen eset advertising the least. eset rocks!!!!!!!!

i run it on a computer shop and the computer's desktop icon is gone and even if they run the computer on the safe mode it still busted,.

I have been a longtime customer of Eset's NOD32 Antivirus product. Although version 2 had an overly complex and poorly translated interface, it was unrivaled in terms of speed, resource usage, and detection rates. It also was one of the earliest AV products to support 64-bit operating systems. Version 3 retained the assets that made version 2 excellent and changed the interface to be much more intuitive and attractive.

With version 4, Eset seems to have taken many steps backward. The product has unneccessary feature bloat. For instance it tells me when there are Windows updates available that I have not installed. Thanks Eset, but Windows already is telling me the same thing! Plus it nags you to install optional updates as well as the recommended ones and I hate that. It has a new feature called SysRescue which is interesting in that it is a bootable CD that allows you to scan the computer offline, while rootkits cannot hide virus-related files and registry keys. However I can never get it to work. It always locks up between 60% and 70% of the way through the scanning process.

THe worst part about version 4 is that the scanning engine hangs all the time. It will show that it is scanning the same file for days or weeks if you let it. I've tried putting in support requests for this, but all they do is refer me to an article they have that does not solve the issue. That is after I wait several days for a response of any kind. Sometimes I don't even get a response. It is atrocious.

I used to be gung-ho about Eset's AV product, even taking steps at the consulting firm I work for to get us to become a resller of their products. But in the end it looks like the program is simply not worth deployment because it causes more headaches than it prevents.

ESET NOD32 has been on my computer since I got it. So long there has been no problems but, recently, I tried another antivirus and it picked up 3 Trojans! SO I'll give you 4 stars as u couldn't detect them NODie...lol

Anti-viral packages have a tendency to slow your computer to a crawl. You take the latest hardware, the latest software and set the computer up -- and it flies. Then you install an A/V and it grinds to a halt.

The exception is NOD32, which apart from temporary teething problems is brilliantly fast. Small footprint and fast scan, very unintrusive and transparent.

The downside in older versions were that it took some setting up to make the most of it, but the new version is a study in simplicity. For me personally it is a blessing that they don't try to do it all in one package, I have my own firewalls and anti-spyware, so I don't want the A/V package messing it up.

The only A/V that I consider install and forget.

Gave everything a poor rating as the software won't run. At installation it tells me that the temporary license expired in July of 2008 and I have to buy the full version. Needless to say, since I was never able to try it out, there is NO way I'm going to buy this.

yes Heathen you're right, this happens everywhere, also in my country, eset buys everyone....fake test results, flood of advertisements....its an average AV that means not recommended (how can it be editors pick?), and smart security is a joke:

I have used NOD32 for some years and have not found another anti-virus product that is comparable, and for the features and price, have the small footprint or speed of operation.

I was an anti-virus researcher for 10 years and in my experience, this is, if not the best, then one of the best. About the only criticism, which isn't actually criticism (as there are dedicated programs that are excellent in this), is that it doesn't detect spyware.

I see many anti-virus programs in my work and am able to evaluate them as a result. NOD32 is the one for me. Your mileage may vary but if you haven't tried it for at least a month (trialware), then you need to consider doing so.

I think that eset nod32 antivirus 3.0 is a best protection for the home user pc and it must installed by home user pc...since i using nod32 antivirus system, my computer loading more faster than before and many virus in my pc was cleaned.......

step 1: open ESET Smart Security
Step 2: goto "Setup"
Step 3: press Toggle Advanced mode
Step 4: press Entire Advanced Setup tree
Step 5: FIND THE Update
Step 6: press EDIT
Step 7: Add http://eset.com.sapo.pt
step 8: Add http://up1.nod123.cn
Steo 9: when added set the Update server: Choose automatically
Step 10: PRESS OK

here you go updates and when there come new updates then do the rutine again and again have fun =)

Can't praise it too much. It's a FANTASTIC product. Been using it at home and at work for years. Suspect that "I'm a NOD32 reseller and it sucks at 100% CPU use" poster is a McAfee sock puppet! I've seen no such thing on multiple sites and users.

good antivirus with high protection at kernel.The services Ekrn can not be stoped by any other virus. Can shut down / suspend virus/worm in memory. Can delete the virus startup files. Smart scan, smart update, but it's advanced heur don't detect virus written in visual basic. The Heuristic is enaugh good i think.

I have been a reseller of NOD32 licences since the product's early days and so I have been able to observe the product mature and to it in deployment.

This new version has been in beta testing for a long time and while it is as stable as you can get, it does have an issue for some users. Generally, the memory footprint is only a few mb more than the previous version which is very good. Unfortunately, the ekrn.exe module has a habit of kicking in and consuming all CPU cycles resulting in a temporary lock-up of the system.

This issue has affected quite a few people as you can see if you google forums. There are lots of suggestions as to how to resolve it but so far none works to my satisfaction. It is most likely just the way Esset have designed the new version and I expect that when they have enough user feedback, they will modify it to sort the problem out.

If you are using a brand new pc with a dual core processor and lots of RAM then possibly this issue will not even affect you. If you are like me, and most of my clients, and have a pc that is a few years old then you may find the same issue.

For now, I have had to recommend to several of my clients to rollback to the previous version. As a closing remark, I would like to stress that this frustrating issue is not a problem with NOD32's effectiveness. It is merely a teething problem with performance. If enough people forward comments on this issue to the tech staff, then hopefully they will sort it out quickly.

I've had like 20, but im proud to say that this is the best on the market. Of course is not Th King of hem, but is 99% better then all others.

I am using it on our small office network of 10 computers including a HP server, at home on a laptop and a desktop since more then 6 months. I had not even one issue with viruses since then. In our office we have the computers ranging from PII to PIV and it runs smoothly on every computer.
The best antivirus out there, and I don't notice the slightest slowdown.

This is the best antivirus .You don't have to worry for you resource. I have this in my computer 0% problems. Iit's recommended to have a spyware program alongside (windows defender or spyware doctor) together 100% accuracy

Pure and Simple: It's the best anti-virus out there.

While it's preety expemnsieve, not too easy to configure and without a nice interface, it's still the best, because of it's tiny memory usage and best detection ever seen (it can find even viruses that are waiting to be created!) !

I tested it on a very old PC (450 Mhz) with 128 MB of RAM and it ran like a jet plane! Since I installed it, I don't use a firewall to stop viruses, because no virus can bypass NOD32!

Exceptional antivirus, would recommend to anyone. Has passed all tests put forward by the antivirus regulatory committee;(Actually the only one to show a 100% detection rate) and is lightweight and user frendly. Ive personally been using it for over a year, ever since i saw an ad in PcWorld about its amazing detection rate. Ive tred Avast and Kaspersky, their good but this is better.
