Love PocoMail. Elegant, smooth, efficient for most home-users. I have tried others, including Tbird and Outlook, but I always return to PocoMail. I do regret that the developers have "quit". But as far as I am concerned PocoMail has all I will ever need.

Way behind on updating and development. Support almost non-existent, just maintained in forum by a few dedicated Poco users. Don't waste money on buying.. for good free alternative see EmClient.

Pocomail is one of the best clients ever. Minus: they do not update it, they do not work on this product anymore. What a pity! Plus: Poco is - beside The Bat - the best email client ever, it has so many functions, I use it - as one of the guys who wrote above me - as professional client, I send emails to above 10.000 customers, I receive 500 emails daily. It works great. OK, I never used IMAP so I cannot write about this function. But Pocomail is my "love".

Pocomail 4.x has many bugs and problems related to IMAP. If you are a heavy IMAP user with multiple accounts and a large volume of email, stay away from this product. Use Thunderbird. Customer support about my issues was very good but I could not stand the loss of email messages and failures with IMAP. There is also an annoying problem that causes one to receive duplicate messages, one in IN and another under inbox for the account. I thoroughy tested this software with 17 email accounts and 123,000 messages. Pocoail could not handle this and had strange behavior using IMAP. I was never successful with setting up GMAIl IMAP on Pocomap. I am an experienced IT worker and expert on email issues. I had converted from Courier to Pocomail and now to Thunderbird. A very painful, time consuming process with lost email.

This program could be EXCELLENT all the way if the author would only give users more customizing capability. Such as the ability to move the order of ALL folders and to send a message with the TO field empty, as long as an e-mail address appears in either/or the CC or BCC fields. One last thing - considering the competition, both shareware AND freeware, the price could be somewhat more competitive. It's too high, as is.

Le meilleur de tous les programmes que j'ai pu tester.
Ce client possède tout pour utiliser les mails au quotidien. Il ne manque rien, et même les autres clients plus récents, n'ont pas encore ce que PocoMail propose depuis longtemps.

Pocomail 3 was cool, Pocomail 4 is a big leap forward. Enough said.

I understand it is very hard to develop an email application that will cater to everybody, and that will include all the standards and all the charsets (to those not in English speaking countries).

I have found Pocomail to be great app to use, despite it was lacking some features and had few shortcomings, over the years. It is a rather innovative email app, one that allows for high productivity and usage comfort. Built-in scripting allows implement advanced functions you would otherwise not find in any standard email client.

What I value most on Poco is the very pleasant GUI, some advanced features not to be found in other email clients, and constant development. Also the fact that it uses standard unix mailbox so it is easily convertible to other formats, searchable, etc.

What I don't like that much is that recently, the upgrade periods when one has to pay the upgrade fee yet again, have shortened significantly.
