As stated before, the changes in the RapidShare API stopped RapGet 1.41 from working as of June 2009.
Up-to June 2009, for three years it was by far the best application to download multiple RapidShare(.com) links, with the smallest footprint.
Also (despite what RapidShare News suggested), it was free of any adware, nor was it stealing your account information.

Numerous mails to Alexander Shiryaev (in Russian also, offering good money) did not make him write a newer version.
This despite of the fact, that in earlier days changes were made within 24-48 hours.

i now use freerapid downloader.. almost as good as rapget and if only it would auto start as soon as id copied the links.. no onlyhave to click start and it does the job.. if frd sort that out , then it would be just as good as the rg ..

This was such a nice little program. I've been using, or rather, struggling to use, JDownloader. Okay, it's got some nice features, but it is so slow and sluggish. It also has problems with persisting premium account details. Rapget on the other hand, it just worked. It was simple, easy to use, fast, responsive. I really do hope that someone forks JDownloader for C++.

Alexander Shiryaev is apparently not around anymore. Numerous people, including myself, have sent him emails even offering him good money for his program to work again, and no answer. I think the answer is we have to a programmer out there to can fix the problem.

Obviously rapidshare changed way how to send account login & password to server, that's why Rapget is not working anymore. Well we can just wait for Alexander Shiryaev if he will release new version....

The main reason I kept my rapidshare account was because of the rapGet utility...now since it is not working with rapidshare any more, I have not renewed my rapidshare account. Rapidshare's own downloading utility is junk.

Why doesn't someone, ANYONE, that knows how to make programs redo Rapget and put it out for download. Its obvious the old owner isn't around.

The best program around for premium Rapidshare accounts. Downloading multiple files was a breeze until it suddenly stopped working a few days ago. I hope the software author can build a workaround for RS' new programming into a new version - I would also pay to have it working again.

RapGet is definitely my favorite RS program. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is working on it anymore... The author might fix this some day but who knows when.
It would be great if he would just update the website and tell us whether he's working on an update or he's abandoned the program completely.

I'm using JDownloader now, and even thought it has some nice extra features, I will go back to RapGet immediately if it gets fixed.
It's simple, fast and I never had any problems with it until now.

I also have used the GREAT program Rapget for over three years! There is no better for Rapidshare files. What gives with the owner. He is pissing a lot of people off.
I can't believe there are no programmers out there that can fix this problem.
Like I said, don't know what is wrong with the owner-maker of Rapget, but he could be making good money right about now. I would pay up to like $50 to have this working and keep working.
So mean while while he gets his act together, have to use "Internet Download Manager".. Its not to bad, good speeds... but it's not the very easy to use Rapget.

I hope rapget starts to work again soon. Its like the best rapidshare download manager out there. Meanwhile any suggestions on what to use that is most similar to rapget.

The IP ban will be removed after 30 minutes, but will be applied again instantly if the harmful activities continue. Please do not use the program again.

At this point we would like to underline our warnings about third-party software that asks you to enter your RapidShare login information. Although most such programs might be safe and useful tools for uploading, downloading or managing your files comfortably, they can also easily steal your password and send it to the program's developer. Please be aware of this risk whenever you are asked to provide your RapidShare account information. RapidShare will not compensate for damages in any way caused to you by using such programs.

I love the part telling me to read their news...well I would have if there homepage was working. They really need to sort their DNS/WINS servers out.

I've used RapGet for years and not a hitch and never corrupted my files like flashget did, now it doesn't work - Oh woe is me. Why can't other downloaders be this simple and efficient, am using jdownloader now but its so sluggish and fiddly but does at least work.

use idm internet download manager..tries all the others,only this comes close to rapget

I really miss RapGet. I hope it returns soon. For now I'm using
JDownloader v 0.6.193. It's o.k.

I have been running Rapget for 3 years and it has run almost faultlessly until 3 days ago. Last year Rapidshare changed the settings on their site which stopped Rapget from working, to fix you had to go to the Rapidshare site & change your setting to allow direct downloads. That fix is not working at the moment. Until Rapget is back up I can recommend IDM, Internet Download Manager, pretty easy to use & quite a bit quicker than Rapget with multiple dl's. Timers & schedulers included.

Its such a shame that this great program will no longer work. Have tried everything and it wont do auto downloads. Even tried installing an older version but that is still the same. tried putting my RS account back off of direct downloads and then back again and still zilch.

Can anyone recommend another program that is even half as good until the rapget tech guys can get this fixed.

Rapget is an excellent application but don't plan on using it with Rapidshare.com because they have changed their linking configuration, direct downloads are no longer direct but rather dynamically rerouted as indicated by the URL. RSM a terrible downloader compared to Rapget

It's stopped working for me too, after months of faultless service. Painful! The offical RSM fails to install on my machine too, just throws an exception.

Well, I confirm recent problems. Also I did not manage to Instal Rapidshare Manager. But JDownloader works all right, and it got a significant GUI upgrade. Nice prog, but it's in java, ,and I don't really like java programs. They usually run sluggish...

Big shame it's not working,great bit of s/ware,is there anything else that does the same job??cheers.

It's June 19, 2009 today. And it's been 3 days that Rapget (ver 1.41) is not working for a premium account on Rapidshare.com
It just goes into 'waiting' mode and keeps on cycling between files when the waiting time for one runs out.
I'm looking forward to any news/help/update in this regard.

program works great, but like many people it has stopped working for me too,problems is that the devs seems to have abandonned project...at least that is what i think, i have tried the other downloaders and i am running into all kind of problems...even with rapidshare's own software...i hope the devs do release another version to solve this...

After many months of successful operation on my RS Premium account, mine stopped working, too. I contacted tech support at Rapidshare and they could only suggest RSM (which will not install on this machine).

Rapget stopped working for me as well two days ago. I also have a premium
Rapidshare account and downloads work fine when manually downloaded. Rapget reports "link corrupted" or simply "pause" on the download links in Rapget.

Any ideas to fix Rapget or recomendations for another download manager? I need a good scheduler that both starts and stops downloads as I have Hughesnet with a FAP which restricts downloads from 2AM to7AM.

Rapget is not working as of 2 days ago for Rapidshare premium accounts.

I've had to use their download program. I don't like it as much but it works until Rapget solves the problem with a new version

my problem is it will not work at the moment. I cannot seem to download anything at all just goes into waiting mode every time even though my rapidshare account has lots of time left on it

An excellent piece of software. It works well with the file hosts that I use, and has more features than I could have hoped for. The proxy settings are a godsend as it means I can use it at work too. I was thinking about writing my own program to do this, but RapGet does everything I need it to and more. Highly recommended!

Hello, i've a problem with MU files : with any kind of user(guest, free and premium) Rapget waits for 5 minutes and do not download my files, bu it works from my brwser. Does someone have an idea about this problem ?

Hi, I have used RapGet sucessfully for a while now, but after i reinstall I encountered the same time out problem as before. However now it doesnt help going into Rapidshare settings and changing it to direct download, it still starts with a 5 minute wait. I have a premium account btw.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with rapget, that it worked with RS a while than simply just stoped and all the link were like dead allthough I had premium account and the download via the web browser was ok.
And all this to me appeare, when I created my alias login name in the RS.
What I did after doing all that it was suggested here in this forum without succes is that I simply called the RS support and asked them to reset my password. They sent via email the new password and all works now. Try it!

Nice! Easy to use and simple GUI. It works perfectly with Megaupload, don't know about other sites though.

Pretty rudimentary. I'd use if if it didn't crash. Mine started crashing all the time, especially with multiple downloads. I finally figured out how to configure the full featured download managers to do everything Rapget does. I use Flashget,which is a little finnicky but great. Some things to try are first, sign into rapidshare. Next, if your download manager won't download RS files that are there, try manually downloading a single file via your browser. I think this may put the RS cookie into the computer?, and often gets the download manager to work. Of course, premium users put their RS info and password. Also, important for Rapidshare! Set the max connections to 1 when downloading the file rapidshare. AND, you also have to set the connections from rapidshare.com itself to one, instead of 'unlimited' which is often the default. It's slower this way, but you should get accurate download totals from rapidshare.

For me, it seem that RapGet 1.41 work only for Megaupload and not for RapidShare or other since I used to try many but only Megaupload is working.

How do you get the ssl libraries to work pls? thanks

To fix the 1.41 problem with premium accounts do the following:

Turn on direct downloads via the rapidshare.com site
when entering ur premium account details into Rapget, only use ur account number and password (Alias wont work).

It is a great program, but id doesnt work on vista or xp, not even with new ssl libs, and I am a premium user, but I am hoping that they are gonna fix that soon.

I have the same problem as TEGMILES, an did exactly as Se7en told, but I still can\'t download rapishare\'s premium account files through rapget 1.41

I am rapget user for one year I am happy with it. I am also premium user of rapidshare. Last week the rapget 1.41 stop working. All link are waiting and after several cycles it comes broken. What happens? I am still able to direct download files from firefox without problems. It looks like bug in matrix ;-)

Solution for rapget problem ladies
Complete the following instructions to fix this problem.

1) Go to Rapidshare.com
2) Hover your mouse over “premium zone” and click on “premium zone login”
3) Click on “settings” on the menu under the Rapidshare.com logo
4) Under “Configuration” tick the box that says “Direct downloads, requested files are saved without redirection via RapidShare”
5) Load RapGet and start your downloads again. You should see them start to download as normal.

This use to work great.

I have used this programme for a long time and its great, the only problem I now have is when I scan my PC once a month it says that RapGet has a TROJAN inside it and advises that I get rid of it. Has anyone ever come across this. I feel I dont want to get ride of the programme as it has never let me down. Would welcome anyones comments. Thanks Nick

right at this moment, rapidget1.41 has been "getting link" from megarotic for 10 minutes. i doubt it's going to download the file. it's got a huge list of file storage places it allegedly uses, but i haven't got it to work on any free downloads. nor is it any good on download links that are hidden, like protectlinks or urlcash. it works fine for rapidshare.com and depositfiles where i have premium accounts and a clear dl link.

i had a problem, whereby it keep making me wait on everything i downloaded... althou it had worked for a while before that

I changed my password on the rp website and reentered it in to repget and it has started working again

Rapget 1.41 , the latest version as of today, is NOT working with Rapidshare.com, even during Rapidshare's Happy Hours. Upon investigation, it appears that Rapishare.com has recently changed the GUI design of their website, so this may be having an impact on the function of Rapget. Any intel on this situation would be most appreciated....cheers

downloaded fine but then next time I logged in I found my rapidshare password changed and the only thing being used was rapget. Checking around it seems there are a lot of concerns over this issue and backdoors into the program. I wont use it again ....to risky.

Oki so first how i solved right now my prob (same like u all have).

I have rapidshare.com premium account. What caused my problem was that i was using my alternative ID what i created on rapidshare.com premium site. After i puted in that ID what i received in email, download started imidiatly.

Second for that 2 nice guys MinorThreat and mr. smart MaxPayne, probably one same person. U should start rly using your brains before posting something anoying, because like someone mentioned before u dont even know how to using setup in that program.
In that setup is list of supported sites, too rapidshare.com.
U probably meaned complete different program called rapidget, what i readed somewhere else was maded only for rapidshare.de.

I used the program before , and it is really great because it equiped by ocr, but chacha already changed from rapidshare. Soo it fail to recover chapcha.
that way it fail to download.

All you need to do is just insert the username and password the webhoster provided and thats all - no system resources, no hassel and a very cute programme. Just an exectable file and it does all your downloads. Maxpayne.....idtiots are those people who do not know how to set up a simple download manager. You perfectly fit under this category.

Everything is great with this program except one thing. It doesnt work. It does exactly what I want it to do, its set up nicely, it allows for the pasting of multiple links from the clipboard, but when i go to click the start button for it to begin downloading, it just comes up with errors time after time. I'm using it to download from sendspace. I put in a link, for example: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xxxxxx but it never actually downloads. Help? Advice? Something? Please? Thank you.

This thing didn't download one single file from any!!! rapidupload sites :( bad because the progy is nice and have a good browsers integration.
