Only Uninstalls existing files, in short if ain't listed in 'Set Program Access & Defaults' and you still got the files sitting in 'Program Files' folder with no desktop icon it can't uninstall it. No search option to find them, even if 'Uninstall' for failed uninstalled application is missing.

Used to be my favorite, but uninstalled and disappointed now. This latest update promised to fix minor bugs, but instead it placed a Revouninstaller pro icon in the toolbar, leaving the bugs, especially the annoying windowing bug unfixed.

Pulling the cursor over any icons in the toolbar flashes a short explanation of functionality, which did not happen for this newly added Revo pro icon. Normally, I don't click any icons without being sure what it will do, but I suspect it would install the pro version by shifting the free version into the payee. You might want to try clicking and see what would happen at your own risk. Not me.

What a pity. Too bad for a promising program and company. They are getting tricky, as it seems to me.
I removed Revo from my system and will find some other solution. There are always alternatives. No more heart for Revo.

    Win 7 (32)
    Pros- It's free

    Cons-
    - For several versions auto-update hangs, and I have to uninstall/reinstall!
    - I do deep scan, and it still levaves startup registry entries that CCleaner finds.

    Uninstaller problem In General!?-
Many programs have an uninstall.isu... that runs on next restart, and deletes any files/drivers that are locked/in-use during normal uninstall (Usually say Restart Now...!).
It seems that wiping out all the registry/files/folders before restart left orphaned drivers...!?
I've had to then use MS Uninstaller to get rid of leftovers!

I was unable to remove Bearshare after my husband installed it on our lap top. I downloaded Revo, and I had no problem getting it uninstalled and all the remnants of the program as well. I am in a computer class and I blasted this product all over our open forum discussions so everyone could hear about this product. I loved it!

I'm using Revo Uninstaller for a few weeks, but i can say it's one of the best tweaks ever. Works perfectly with any kind of software and leaves no useless traces in Windows registry.
It's able to force removal of any undesired application: try to uninstall Speedbit Video Accelerator without it and you'll know what i mean...

Once again, editor’s pick was a perfect judgment. Not for the first time, leastways here on Softpedia.

I didn’t trust freeware, nor I believed in editor’s pick but it’s changed now. I paid for many useless shareware, let alone some of them even came with spyware, until I learned to turn on freeware and read carefully to what the editor or other posters say.

This is a very good program. Really nice, easy to use. In addition, it is free.

Mich asked how they make money. Maybe they will sell it for money later when it becomes a hit on the market. Many companies start business like that. Alternatively, it might be because it gives a right-click Google search option. But it’s very useful indeed, as careful users normally google deleteable reg.keys and filenames, anyhow, to learn about the consequences before removing them.

Until then we get it free and we can help them with our feedback. That’s what I call fair do’s and not what some big mouth companies do that they issue buggy programs for big money without beta testing and then start patching it later when complaint flows, if they can be bothered to do so at all.

But I have tried, tested Revo and it worked well without any incidents and stayed on my platform.

Meanwhile, I agree with Mich, that an about section on Revo’s home site would be a good thing to see, though.

Here's something I do not understand: how is this software supported?

There are no ads on their website revouninstaller.com, their company's website vsrevogroup.com shows a blank page, and there's no information about the company, its people, etc. Whois shows it's located in Bulgaria.

How do they make money to pay for all the hosting and bandwidth and development cost?

I think Revo Uninstaller is better than Your Uninstaller in uninstall function. You have to try this program for a week then you will see sth. difference.

I've never seen software been so ruthless on stubborn applications...lol...I like the fact that you can even select the level/type/mode to uninstall..it even allows an application to try an uninstall itself before it rids of it regardless....the best in this categoy in my oppinion!!!! A big thumbs up!!!

by far the best uninstaller out there. this is the only uninstaller i actually see a true point using over windows add/remove programs. yes some companies want to tell you to use the add/remove that comes with windows but obviously they never had to deal with applications that just never "fully uninstall". well revo fixes that by removing the left over registry files too so you dont have anymore of those partial uninstalls.

note: whenever u install a crappy product then uninstall it. if you cant uninstall it the 1st thing they will ask u is what uninstall program did u use? they do this because 1) they dont want to admit its their product that is the issue and 2) they dont want to pay for a better installer. very few products i have had problems reinstalling and those i do, ive had the same problem regardless if i used windows add/remove or revo uninstaller.

Just keeps getting better, version 1.50 I don't think theres a better uninstaller than this one, it runs the programs uninstall (if there is one) then when you get that "program uninstalled" confirmation Revo goes to work & finds the registry keys, & then left over files. You have total control if you want to keep or delete registry keys or anything else, Its never found any registry keys that weren't for uninstalled software. Its awesome, if you download & install a lot of different software, Its what I do. This program will totally take care of your machine when you want to get rid of something, It does it.

It really is a five star app. I'm using version 1.4.2.0 it is the best uninstaller I've ever used, after running uninstall it will search registry for for leftover reg keys. Its been right on every time. I download, install and uninstall a lot of applications, If you like to do the same, this is by far the best cleanup tool. I can't rate it high enough. Plus there are excellent clean up tools integrated with Windows system, & has cleanup tools for IE as well as the BEST browser AKA Firefox

    A Genuine 5 Star application

Revo Uninstaller has improved greatlt since the above reviews. Never had a single problem with it. Packed with many extra features to keep your computer clean.

Revo now has advanced features for software removal and cleans up many, if not all the left over debris from installation. One of the best uninstallers going.

I tried it for a month or two. It's really a non-stable program, often hangs and makes my computer be slow! It tried to remove the Nero program and after it I can't uninstall nero at all! Don't ever use it. Try looking at Uninstall Tool (http://www.crystalidea.com/software/utool), seems to work great.

I installed it, and when it opend up it showed only two of my many many programs. I assume that the scanning to show a list of all programs, is extremely slow.
Couldn't figure out what is "hide mode" when the program minimizes itself , and the right click shows nothing.
    Uninstalled after a few tries.
