I downloaded SuperSetup.exe on 25, Nov 2011 to find that the installer was corrupted. What should I do to get the good one? I tried to download from the home with the same result.

give super any multimedia file, it will definitely encode it for you.
extremely reliable compared to all those other applications i've already wasted my time trying them.

The GUI isn't that hard to understand or get use to but it could be better. I tried this because it is suppose to be fast converter which it is. I wanted something that I could use to convert WMV-HD files to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. Wanted to keep the good quality and save space (h.264 you can get same quality with smaller files). When I did the conversion the videos lost some quality; looked a little fuzzy. I tried higher bitrate settings (which increase file size) but still the converted video didn't look so great. This program is great if you want to convert videos to play on your PMPs, cell phones, etc but it doesn't seem to do so great with HD videos. Handbrake does a much better job of converting videos to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. Super is much faster but Handbrake results in better quality.

SUPER 2011.BUILD.48 is the only freeware to propose DVCPRO25 and DVCPRO50 output files. This is excellent.

This is one of the best encoder programs. v2011-blt-47 is even better with the new file splitting feature and the new special WMV codecs for private use !

I tried many encoder, never been more satisfied than when using SUPER.
I really do have heavy usage of this application on my Vista Laptop.
I continuously encode VOB files into DPG for Nintendo DS for educational purposes. It works like a charm so I recommend it to all those people saying it is hard to use. It is of an extreme simplicity, try it.

I don\'t understand people complaining so much about UI... IT\'S FREE and, most of the time, this software does the job well.... I like the fact that there are several possible settings for each conversion... Yes, it might not be simple for someone that doesn\'t know anything about video standards and stuff like that but for those who have a bit of knowledge it\'s great... The only bad thing I found was when a conversion failed, you won\'t have a real explanation... The same text appears for all the failures... For those who\'ll say \"Go buy a real program, save yourself the hassle\".. I\'ll say it\'s a real program and I\'m not stupid enough to pay for something just because I want a nicer UI or because I don\'t want to take a few minutes to learn how to use this software.... It\'s not one of those stupid trial crap things, it\'s free for real... so stop complaining!

It's an awesome software. v2011B47 is truly a must have.

v2011.build.47 (March 12, 2011) is an EXCELLENT program.
encodes flawlessly my VOB files to MP4 and my AVIs to WebM
for web streaming.

Try a "Forced Uninstall" with Revo Uninstaller. I have the PRO so I don't know if the free version have this feature.

In the "Full Path to Program" (location) , when asked, put this:
C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER
Then press Next, and after the scan press Delete to all the remnants (registry and other) of the program.

Now, maybe, your reinstall will work.

I wanted to know if anyone knows how Super converts WTV and DVR-MS to mpeg.

Does it re-encode, thereby losing picture quality, or does it strip the mpeg file out of the WTV/DVR-MS container?

This is just amazing encoder and truly one of its kind u wont find anything like this from anywhere but now i had it removed for a small time and when i tried to install it again it says "invalid database. The installation will be cancelled". Somebody know what this means and how to fix this?

I added an flv file to the window and absolutely nothing happened. There is no command button for "Convert" or anything like that. How does this thing work?

My question is how do you set the SUPER media player to perform as a standard media player? If I don't want to convert or do anything but play music.

Ok how hard is this GUI?.... click the output file you want then select the file you want to convert... then you can even change the output folder... then click convert how in the heck is this GUI so bad? If you are having that many issues with this GUI you need to just uninstall this program and not worry with video at all..

I used to have Super installed on my old laptop, and it's by far the best converter I've used... however, it will not install on my new one. I also get the setup.ini problem. I wonder if they're ever going to do anything about it... it's a shame! The features are great but the GUI is pretty complicated indeed.

Super should have a more common UI, other than that, I LOVE this software, and best of all, it's free.

This app. is great, except it's GUI. You may get used to it after a while but most people just uninstall it after first glance. I think developers should change GUI because it really shadows its other great features. Why would anybody design such a bad UI for a good app like this?

Very crappy UI and only one general error message, that does not explain anything. Error could be not supported file format, wrong options or even disk is full. Same general error for all.

GUI is really bad, this is not designed by human. You must use a martian logic to understand this piece of software. After learning the UI, it is desent program IF you don't run in any errors.

Well, earlier another user commented that 'dummies' should stay away. I'm not a dummy, and you couldn't pay me to use this piece of software again. An installation aborted itself, and cleaning up after a piece of software that craps out halfway through installation is almost always more work than it's worth.

On their website it says that this happens because their server crapos out midway through the download, and they think I am going to 'try again later'?

Sure, it has a ton of formats that (allegedly) it is capable of converting to and from.

Go buy a real program, save yourself the hassle.

Im having the same problem. Super wouldn't install.

Error message upon trying to run .exe file is

Invalid Database

My set up is: Vista Home Premium (SP 1) , a 2.33 GHz Intel Ccore 2 Duo CPU with 2GB RAM & 92GB Free Hard Disk space.

Has anybody out there got an idea of what I may be doing wrong?

Highly recommended for anyone looking to convert just about ANY type of video file into something else! .. Interface takes awhile to get used to but worth the small effort on the users part...

This is a very well made program, bit if you are not a fan of non-stnadard interfaces then it may confuse you at first. It's not as bad as it first appears and it's worth the effort.

The worst thing about this program is it's insistence on checking for the latest version and the dreadful website it takes you to when it finds a new version.

Finding a free program that will convert from almost any video format to almost any another format is rare. This one seems to work pretty good for what I've tested, with a few exceptions. Wanted to convert DVD .VOB to iPod .MP4 -or- other formats.

Converted DVD (.VOB to .FLV) -- video camcorder uses 416x272 (1.529 aspect ratio) -- YouTube uses 320x240 (1.333 aspect ratio) -- video encoded to .FLV at 720 kbps, using SUPER � (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer) from www.eRightSoft.com (freeware).

Result: looks stretched vertically, about 15% off?
(1.529 / 1.333 = 1.147)

I had input the source and target frame sizes, expecting it to convert the aspect ratio, but it did not.

Using a Philips DVDR 3390 dvd recorder, the encoding uses 1 hr (HQ) or 2 hr (SP) modes = 720 x 480; 4 hr (EP) or 6 hr (SLP) modes = 352 x 480; each with different bandwidth. The 6 hour (SLP) recordings on DVD will not work with SUPER � -- the resulting aspect ratio is wrong.

I'll check back to see what happens with the next version...

This is an excellent encoder. I used Dr. Divx before someone suggested I try this. It's much faster and has tons of options. Make sure you meet system requirements before you download. Happy encodeing. ^^

IT'S INCREDIBLE !!! INSTALL THIS ONE AND YOU WILL NEVER-EVER REGRET !

There is only one downside to this program, and it can be a rather big one. Super is a front end for a myriad of utilities that actually do the work in the background. Meaning that when you install Super it puts a lot of other stuff on the computer. If you are someone who is fairly heavy into Audio/Video on the computer, this can mess with existing programs. Especially with codecs and such that get installed. When I install super video, it will interfere with AutoGK, it does over-write newer programs with older ones (eg. Avisynth), and on my personal system, it corrupts WMV and MPG playback.

If your an average user, this probably is a non issue, and this program will be a godsend. To someone who does a bit more, it's a bit of a pain. I've had to stop using it, because on my system/setup, with what I have installed, it just doesn't play nicely.

But it's free, so if it works for you great, if it doesn't, well it didn't cost you anything to find out.
