i have downloaded patcher but it's displaying a window in which "patch" button is unactivated... how can i activate is?

this one of the worst and stupid software . due to this software i have lost soo many programs and tool bar and desktop icon everything i losted ........ i am complaing to the management now
i need my computer in normal stage

Does anyone know for sure if this ( or ver 6 ) works with Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 version 2600? I've used the prior version before with no problems but was using another pc with Win Xp, but not XP Professional.

Can't take the chance on messing up my pc as I work at home via the net and want to be pretty sure it will work without screwing up my computer. ( But I will, of course, set a restore point ).

horrible. made my computer extremely slow.. i am not able to uninstall it..

Version 6 worked perfect for me. Version 7, this latest update, doesn't work. I had to find version 6 again to customise my XP SP3 installation.

Ok. Now i have reinstalled windows to XP SP3 and this ¤#% still dont work. Now it says it requiers free space on W:... I dont even have a W:.
Worst 3rd party theme changer app ever!

After installing this my computer has downgraded extremely in speed. It now takes 10+ seconds to start a program. I cant even interact with the start menu or folders. Every folder i want to open takes 10+ seconds to open, same with start menu. Just starting firefox so i could come here and write this took 18 seconds aprox,
Remove this app. It does more harm than good.

hello! i have a problem. runnning the .exe i get a notice that it detected a NT folder.... and that it is not recomended i should proceed, so it has an ok button to exit. So i can't install the patcher. I would appreciate your help.

I've been using uxtheme patch for quite some time now, and I've got it on all of my computers. (ones running windows, that is...) It's always done exactly what its supposed to do and now with 6.0 it still performs perfectly. I dont know whny some ppl seem to be having trouble with the patch, since all that is needed is to apply the patch, find a theme you like, place the theme in windows/resources/themes. great patch and imho far superior to using windowblinds or styleXP.

Works Great. I had to reinstall due to me not reading the reviews posted here.

First off I have xp sp2 2600 build. Once the error comes up, I hit cancel then answered yes to keeping the patch. After that I hit "ok" and it restarts your computer and is ready to go.

to all facing trouble like below. read this carefully!..

1.while installation windows will ask for install-CD to restore system's file because it's theme being overwrite. just ignore and cancel this.

2."Uxtheme Multi-patcher will allow you to use any 3rd party msstyle theme"
this means its not included any extra theme(msstyle). so you have to download 3rd party msstyle as its said (google search for >> theme+visual style )
or find in this site

3. download and open visual style pack -> just double click *.msstyle file to apply new theme.

GOD DAMN It said i need service pack 3 ( which i have) and it said reinstall program to change the theme to normal but it stays classic and says i only have classic theme!! HELP I WANNA CONVERT BACK TO ORIGINAL LUNA!!!

Your computer probably came with windows pre-installed, and the windows cd that was used to install the os has been backed up to allow for cd-less changes. Simply RENAME the directory to something like "i386_BAK" or whatever you fancy. Then re-run the program and it will work fine

(Changing the name of this folder will have no impact on the operation of windows)

I need help!I have the same problem as the one who posted before me.I downloaded the 6.0 version and pressed patch then made everything like it said and now i have only the Windows Classic Style.I'm with Windows XP SP2 32-bit version.Is it from the 32-bit version because i read that the patch is for 64-bit version after the installation.

I downloaded uxtheme multi-patcher 6 and after I pressed the patch it asked me to insert a certain cd(I dont have any idea about it) I pressed cancel then my theme turned to windows classic style and I couldnt manage to change it back..

windows and buttons on the appearance tab usually have 3 choices and not it has only windows classic style.. help guyss.

I downloaded it and installed it with no problem and worked fine for a while. I have XP SP3 and I downloaded a third-party Windows Vista theme. However some time ago it started acting weird. Everytime I boot, the taskbar goes back to the regular XP blue one. I reapply the theme but upon reboot the same thing keeps happening. The rest of the theme remains Vista-like.
I tried applying the patch and reapplying it to do all over again but it won't fix this bug. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

1. i386 folder is needed to be moved/renamed. A normal patcher replaces uxtheme.dll in this folder also, and optionally save a backup file.

2. It not works on hungarian XP Home SP3.

First I would like to say that I am now capable of using third party themes and a happy camper.

Now... I have no idea what actually caused this because I also downloaded a StyleXP trial. Between the two, I have no clue which one was the one that made it work. The setup of both drove me insane and I had no clue what they both were asking.
In the future I think it may be a good idea to first test your apps/files/w/e on numerous computers because from what I can see in the other reviews quite a lot of people seem to be having some of the same problems I had. Secondly it would be a good idea to make some explicit guidelines in a simple .txt for better ease of use. I found myself putting together the pieces of what other users were saying to make AT LEAST some sense out of what was going on. Do you know I actually ejected my CD that I had in the disc drive? Please be VERY specific about details; assume that everyone lack basic computer skills.

This version claims to work on x64 systems. You have one more user proving your wrong ...

I can\'t seem to get it to work. I\'m runnin a service pack three. I don\'t know if there is a working version for this.

Please keep in mind there are two i386 files, at least there are in mine.
C:\\i386 and C:\\Windows\\i386.
Rename the C:\\i386.

I've used this program before on WinXP SP2 systems, and it works great. However, it is not compatible with the final release of SP3, not sure what M$ did.

Could someone look into this and figure out why SP3 doesn't like this program?

This does not work at all for me. Whenever I try installing it, it displays "NT setup files found in C:\i386". So, I move and it install fine. However, whenever I try using a theme, it STILL doesn't work.

The program does't run on Windows XP SP2. It says it's not proper OS.

I also have downloaded and installed Uxtheme Multi-patcher 5.0, and i have a similar problem. When I turn my notebook on (even before windows xp has started), I receive a windows pop-up with the following information: lsass.exe - Unable To Locate Component "This application has failed to start because UxTheme.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Then I have to click on OK.
Windows starts, but the only thing I see is my background wallpaper! No icons or anything! I can't do anything. :( This really frustrates me. Hopefully can one of you guys help me out here. Much thanx in advance!

thanx to the crreator of this program..
it really works on the (os XP sp2 build 2600 platform), which is the latest up to date XP os..
on top of that, it has fixed several bugs on the program compared to version 4.0 & 5.0..
the predecessor version like 4.0 had made my windows explorer corrupted which i had to re-format the whole system..(due to ablility support 2180 platform XP only)
the version 5.5 is ease of use and it had the built in program to detect our os platform..
just apply on it and follow its simple instructions..tat is..

A: There are 2 reasons for this, the first, you didn't read the instruction carefully telling you not to insert your windows CD when prompted. The second, your OEM system comes with system files backed up in windows\i386 folder. This folder acts as the windows CD when system files need to be copied over, it is non-essential for the operation of the system. Renaming it or moving it someplace else ie burning onto a CD etc, should enable you to patch your uxtheme.dll.

This is the one that worked for me, although it still doesn't allow Windows to use themes that have only an msstyle file instead of a .theme file.

I just installed this but it doesn't seem to work. Win XP, SP2. Exactly how are you supposed to use it? I don't know anything else to do but put a .msstyle file in my Windows\Resources directory but it doesn't how up when I browse for a them via the desktop properties.

yep it's easy install and works just fine @ XP SP2

It does what it says. No troubles installing on my XP SP1 machine. I have yet to see how it fairs on my XP SP2 system.
