yahoo messenger are always annoying......better switch to windows live messenger 2011 which has very great features and much much better than this piece of junk.....

Softpedia, hello, can you please publish back the older version (v10) so we can download it back?

There are a lot of people that want to revert to the old version but Yahoo! doesn't provide the installation packages for previous versions - and as I have explained in my previous comment, I am security concious and I do not want to have my private chats saved online but offline.

SECURITY ISSUE: all your private conversations will be saved along with your email! If your account is compromised, or your account can be accessed by others, besides email messages, they will have access to your private chats also! BE AWARE!

They are stupid they did not keep the offline archiving and removed all traces of v10 for users to download back!

I hate this and i hate them - will move to MSN (they offer compatibility with Yahoo! users and don't store and spy on my). Skype also keeps your private chats saved on some servers or peers..

The new Yahoo Messenger 11 Message Archive sucks big time! The loading is much slower than v10 and the left pane (from v10) - users category - is gone! Now, we have all users in one window, a total mess!

PS. Not all my messages has been imported with v11, some are gone, nowhere to be found, vanished... as I said before sucks big time!

Downloaded it, but found it interesting that it now scans your E mails and private IM"S. They say they do this to better direct ad's to you. Not have to accept this policy if you want to log into messenger. Think I will stay with the older version. Do not like the fact they scan my private emails and IM's

the yahooo messenger is very good but you always have trouble in downloading it and thats why people don't use it anymore which makes it SUCK!

Yahoo messenger on iphone now can do video chat and stay signed in for up to 2 weeks, that's accordingly to its website. So happy that I have found a messenger that will not sign you out after a few hours or so. This way i can stay connected to my iphone friends all the time.

But just after about a week, their status showed online but in fact they have been signed out. And I was wondering why I didn't get a reply! Fake status!

i want to know... why my yahoo messenger always crashed. the application itself close after i logging in and it says "yahoo messenger is not working". and there's a solution but still now working i tried to update my vista like what is said i mean the windows update. hope you can solve this problem. yahoo messnger is the best and i really need to use it. i tried several times uninstalled the program and reinstall again, still not working.

Yahoo Messenger 10 is very disappointing as it does not have PC phone facility as it was in previous versions, also add friend facility is not there (I am using Windows XP )

my last download today i tried to install but its like not genuine so i delete and so, i tried this to download its good!!

I haven't explored much of the new yahoo IM, 9.0.0.2136 very much, but I have noticed a couple of new features that I like. In the message window it informs me of the time of the other persons last message and also that they are typing a message. I'm sure there is more to find when I get a chance.

It is a very good friend for all.

this version of instant messenger is NOT compatable with windows vista premier 64 bit>I wish it ws compatable but it simply is not.Too many crashes,too many hung screens,too many issues of connectivity.Not to mention the conflicts it creats as a result of being not compatable with a 64 bit platform.

i like the new version but i absolutely hate the new look things are to big u cant make them small enough! i much prefer a more classic messenger look the new tools are ok, But the new look i definitely do not like. And i wish it was easier to find an old style look for it.

Much better than MSN in terms of features (voice messages, online/offline conversations, games…). Plus, now that you can invite a friend from Windows Live Messenger, it has become my favorite messenger.

Well I didn't think Yahoo could make a worse IM than Microsoft but I was wrong.

I used WLM and what a mess that is. A bug feast. Rarely did I manage to login without spending 15 minutes trying to troubleshoot the connection.

So back to MSN for me.

Anyway I read that YIM and WLM now talk to each other. I downloaded the YIM online starter installer. That sent alarm bells ringing but I persisted.

Next I have more bloat to deal with than a super sized copy of Windows XP. I don't waste any time and I patch Yahoo to get rid of the ads.

Well now I take a moment to relax and check out Yahoo Instant Messenger, YIM - no, not an asian noodle shop!

What I found was totally unimpressive. When I went to uninstall I found that YIM took over 50 MB worth of space!!!

All I want is to chat, record the chat, and send the occasional file. What I got was a monster.

I dispise Microsoft a little less now.

If only Google Talk would hurry up and have a decent chat. All well and good to say they have no ads, but to have so very little besides just isn't good enough.

Google talk is half starved, Yahoo is obese, and WLM is mad, totally mad I tells ya.

Am si eu o problema cu yahoo messenger 8.0.0.683 poate ma putetzi voi ajuta, problema ii urmatoarea: ma conectez, totul ii ok, dar cand vreau sa scriu la cineva nu vad ce scrie dupa ce dau click pe send nici nu vad ce scrie persoana cu care vorbesc, adica nu vad nimik se scrie in fereastra in care ar trebui sa scrie de ex cu F3 ora si alea alea. daca stie cineva pls trimitetzimi un mail urgent pe ptah9000@yahoo.com ca nu mai stiu ce sa fac :(

I really dont see much of a difference between 8.0.0.X andn 7.5.X...other than the fact that is just some more junk which comes turned on by default in the buddy list window, including advertisements, which is annoying.

Maybe somoene will make a Yahoo IM Ad Hack...lol!

I just don't understand why, since version 7.5, did Yahoo add that "Make international calls" advertising. It changes to "call now", etc...

The photo sharing tool built into Yahoo IM session blows away AIM's Direct IM.

Yahoo IM is leaps ahead of AIM.

For some reason I don't like Yahoo! Messenger all that good..its alright I guess, but the reason I don't like it is probably I don't know many people that use it. The grahpicals and ease of use are excellent though. This program is great for beginners and advanced users alike. The interface is nice. Overall, its good!

I agree there are lot of bugs in yahoo messenger and it has to be fixed, some issues r crash, and voice starts automatic in chat rooms, yahoo really has to think about that and even the side bar wallpaper dont automatically displays on chat windows.

Although the new version has a lots of bugs and crashes quite often (a few times / week), sometimes loosing messages without warning or simply crash.
