This tool shows how good your burner/media (and their combination) is. It is almost a standard for testing this stuff. Good and free.

Has always found copy protection for me. Great with Alcohol 120%.

I have tried a few copy and virtual drive tools but I think this one is best. I could burn everything that I have thrown at it (not that much but still good).

Almost every well compressed (with good quality and small size) video these days are compressed with XviD. Free and open source is even better.

Very good except that it is not free. The quality is good enugh to use in Adobe InDesign and in real prints. A must if you need to do mathematical formulas and don't want to use TeX.

Only Adobe Bridge is better at browsing, rating and sorting pictures. IrfanView is free, small and fast, even if you have Bridge IrfanView is great. It is great for viewing the pictures in explorer just double click the image and IrfanView launches almost instantly even on older systems.

Best client for gnutella 1 & 2 and e-donkey. Not as good as Azureus on torrents. Very good for the stuff that isn't available on torrents.

Best bit torrent client I have found. Really much controll over the sharing. Only problem is that it is a bit heavy on the resources.

This is just great and easy to use! If you need to manage files use this, works well with putty.

This should be integrated to trillian like the other emails. It does not work as good as the integrated ones (slower and sometimes refuses, no double click to open).

A little program that does what it says. Text based (of course) but nice GUI configuration that works.

I have tested some download managers but found this along time ago, it is the best, and if it is true that it is banner free now (without paying), it is even better!

Can play almost everything, I only miss real media sometimes. It is fast and good hotkey support. It has some problems with skins but it dont care, I watch in fullscreen. I wish it were better at browsing for files especially on the TV (large fonts and the like).

Best music player. Can play more formats than anything else. The gold version can convert/rip to more formats than anything else. The GUI is a bit cluttered and it is hard to find nice skins. You can use Winamp Classic skins for the player and some nice windows style for the rest.

Very nice alarm application, could be lighter on the resources.

The only bad thing about this is that it is a bit hard to learn and a bit hard to configure, however it IS the BEST editor. Better than emacs even (guess that is taste too, but vim users work faster). To all first time users: if it is a bit strange/different at first, give it a try you will understand that it is the best after a while.

The GUI is not perfect and therefore not the ease of use. There are some features that are not realy needed but still they are small and do not intefere much. It does not seem to find everything by itself, use together with Ad-Aware.

This program is great. No unnecessary stuff and it does what it says. Use it together with spy bot and prette much any spyware/adware will be detected. That is the only weakness I can find too, that it does not find all by it self.

This program is almost perfect. It does what it says and has no unnecessary features. Some people have lost data but it very easy not to, just backup the files everytime you save them. I have never lost data and never had corrupted databases. Very nice auto type functions.

This kind of application can never be small enough but avast is pretty close. You can configure pretty much at install time and there is a nice stream of updates. Better GUI than AVG (perhaps other stuff too). Should be enugh for every home user and it is free!

It is hard to know that this kind of application does what it says (protect privacy). However it is better than without anything and it does not interfere with my other stuff.

Very nice GUI and help. Some features will be unnecessary for some (like me) but you can turn them off. They seem to only work in IE. Nice anti spyware even active scanning (easy to turn off). It is quite small with most things turned off. It starts at about 1,8 MB memory for me and grows (slowly) up to 30MB when using applications for a while, but when I open its GUI and close it, it goes back to 1,8 MB ... However most of the time it is quite small and I dont think it inteferes with games and such stuff (memory wise).

I have been using this for a while and not very often (thanks for that). It seems this program is not very much liked, I would like to know why, I havent had any problems. I guess it is quite hard to rate this kind of application without through tests.

The only backup tool I have used and the only I use. Has what I need and it works. A little expensive.

It could look better and be a little easier to use. I have been using this for a long time and it does it stuff great! No unnecessary features. It shows temps, voltages, fanspeeds, SMART information. You can have alarms to certain events and adjust fan speed manually or automaticly.

The features it has are great and there are no unnecessary stuff. There could be a better junk file remover, like the one in Ace Utilities and a good Registry Cleaner and defragmenter would not hurt, but it is better to keep the features few and good rather than many and not so good.

The GUI is not perfect but easy to use! It has all the features one need and they are great. No unnecessary stuff. RAR is very good, 90% of the time it is better than ZIP compression wise. Zip is sometimes preferable when alot of people must be able to uncompress it (it can compress zip too of course). It can split files. It can encrypt files very well too. It can uncompress almost everything!

The RegCleaner is available separately and it is the only thing good in this suite.
Other stuff is available in windows or some other cheaper tool like Ace Utilities or TuneUp Utilities.

For 5$ more you get Ace Utilities that has find more problems but RegCleaner Pro does find some that Ace does not. So it could be a nice complement.
The defragmenter is not as good as the one in TuneUp utilities, it does not show enugh information and has no ability to analyze. It is hard to tell how well it defragments since it does not show any results (you could compare the new file sizes to the old but that seems a bit like the stone age).
It does not have any unnecessary stuff.

For the same price you could get Ace Utilities that among other things has the best Registry Cleaner. The Optimizon of this program is found in many free programs. The Registry Defrag is nice but the one in TuneUp utilities is much better.
It finds some registry problems that Ace Utilities does not find (it seams TweakNow RegCleaner finds these, might be a better choice).

Seems to be the best defragmenter! It could look nicer but it is easy to use and the features are great! It does not have any unnecessary stuff. Well I guess the price is good, but it should be free!
