Very nice and useful. Other computer calculators are a pain to use, finally something that's more like one of those nifty TI graphing calculators.

GUI:    Features:    Ease of use:    Value:

Not worth it. Doesn't have many features - the only "theme" changes you can make are colors, you can't change the width of the buttons (and they are very thin, so any extra text is just not displayed). Also the code produced is excessively long (about 20 kb of code), and you cannot choose the location of the menu on your page, it is generated to be positioned at the absolute top left corner of your website. Don't waste your time, buy a better program or learn how to do it yourself.

Very high quality software, and it's free too. The GUI is very pretty, the features are nice, they provide many themes and allow you to upload your music. It is also very simple and easy to create a slideshow. The only thing I don't like is that they don't let you pick the transitions, they are random. Overall easily 5 stars

Very poorly made software, and way way way overpriced. It's pretty useless since it can only change icons for .exe files that already have icons. In other words if the .exe has NO icons with it, you can't add any, you can only replace the ones that are there.

Slightly prettier than Diary Dominator, still not as good looking as Advanced Diary. Also both of those have more features than this one. However if you're looking for something simple, decent looking, and free, this is the one for you. Advanced Diary is clearly the best but costs money, Diary Dominator has much more power but isn't as pretty.

Copernice Desktop Search is the best search utility I could find, and I've tried many. The GUI is pretty, the features are excellent. It indexes very quickly, can search for images, music, pictures, emails, favorites, history, and more. It's very easy to set up, it can run in the background, and you can customize automatic updates. Very nice software.

    Overall rating:
GUI:    Features:    Ease of use:    Value:

StartMenuEx is a decent replacement for the start menu. It is very customizable, has nice features, but it is difficult to add your own menu items since you have to type everything in by hand, as far as I could tell. The menu also is very slow to load, it takes a second to open each submenu even though I have 4 GHz on my computer. Another complaint is that it requires the .NET framework 2.0. It was ok but not exactly what I was hoping for, so I uninstalled it after about five minutes.

This diary comes with as many features as many of the commercial diary programs, such as Advanced Diary (which I rated excellent), and much more than any free program I have tested. It really is "powerful" as they claim. The only thing that really bugs me is the ugly interface. It is too cluttered, and looks silly in comparison with Advanced Diary's smooth GUI. So although it is fully featured, it is very ugly and confusing at some times, so I give it 4 stars.

To all the people who say Firefox crashes and what not - maybe it's time to get a new computer? Firefox runs very smoothly and quickly even when loaded with extensions. Even when I open about a hundred tabs in one window. Without the extensions it would be 4 stars on some things but extensions and themes make Firefox way way better than any of the lame competition. Opera is the only one that comes close, the others are pitiful in comparison.

The GUI is beautiful and clean, unlike Winamp and the other competition. It is very easy to use, has excellent features like rating, playlists, sorting your music, displaying artwork, browsing, and more. Completely free and I only wish they had a Linux version as well. I would never even think about getting another Music Library program.

Thunderbird blows away Outlook and any other email program I have tried. Setup is really easy, and it is simple to create new accounts. The Message Filters are very handy and let you sort your emails quickly. I recommend getting the "Minimize to Tray" and "Menu Editor" extensions, the former which lets you get rid of some clutter without closing it, and the latter which lets you clean up menu items that you never use. I have been using The Gimp for years now so I am used to it and love the GUI, but I can see where it would be confusing for somebody new, and all the windows do clutter up you desktop. However that is the only problem and shouldn't stop you from downloading the program. It is definitely the best free graphics manipulation program, and much better than most of the ones that cost hundreds of dollars. It comes with almost all of the features of Photoshop. The only problem I really have with it is text manipulation, which is pretty weak. They are working on a "FreeType" plugin which gives you some features, but it is still not where I would like it to be. Other than that it comes with amazing filters and effects and is highly customizable. Excellent all-around.

Yahoo! Widget Engine is the best widget engine for Windows (I've tried them all). There is an amazing amount of useful widgets on the website, although there are so many it can be a pain to search through them and find the ones you want. But really, no matter what you are looking for, chances are somebody has made it. If you use a Recycle Bin widget, then I recommend installing TweakUI as well so that you can hide the normal Recycle Bin from your desktop without disabling all desktop icons.

This program has been very useful since I just got an iPod nano. It converts almost all move file types - avi, mpg, wmv, etc - into iPod video format. The GUI is very well polished for a free program, and very easy to understand and use. Overall an excellent program for something free and small.

It's a shame that Gaim has only a 4.4 rating at the time of this review. It really deserves 5 stars because it is clearly far and away better than any competition. The GTK GUI is very clean and lacks annoying advertisements like most competitors. Plug-ins come in very hand, such as the "System Tray Icon" and "Guifications" which has a toaster pop-up to alert you when friends sign on and off. It has all of the features of other chatting programs and then some. You can use it for AIM, Yahoo, Jabber, and more. It is simply an amazing program and is much better than any of its competition.

I don't know why anybody would purchase Microsoft Office with this option available. It has just as many features, even more actually, such as converting documents to PDF, which has been very useful. There are some errors when opening files of foreign types but overall they are a small price to pay for a free alternative with so many functions.

Advanced Diary is without a doubt the best Diary/logging program out there. The interface is beautiful and it has many nice features. The text is formattable, you can insert images, you can protect the diary with a password, and more. I really like how they have a 30-day trial instead of limiting features, so that you can really see how the program functions. This is the first time I have even _considered_ purchasing software, since I usually opt for freeware competitors. In this case, Advanced Diary completely blows away the competition so I might just buy it after the trial period ends.

The interface is very pretty, much nicer than competitors like NoteTab. It has very nice features, such as customizing indents for different file types, unlimited undo, and tabbed display to allow multiple files in one window. The Lite version is free and is much better and has more features than other free versions of other programs, so I don't even see the point in getting the Pro version since the Lite version is so good. Overall excellent program, great replacement for Notepad.
