My gripe with this program is about a particular bug, and the lack (as far as I can tell) of anyone to report the bug to. For the uninitiated, when downloading a file, it downloads many articles in usenet and puts them all together. NZB-O-Matic opens NZB instructions and uses them to find these files in usenet. So far, so good, but the program queues files at the top of the download list instead of going through the list in a normal progression. Suppose I have a particular download that is broken down into 20 rar files, which is in turn broken down into 60 articles (which you don't actually see, you just know they're downloading). Nzb-o-matic will download 28 articles for one particular rar, queue that rar and then do all the others in the correct order. To download the other articles, you must either wait for the queue to complete, then it'll go back and finish off the articles for the file at the top that was queued, or you have to disconnect and reconnect every minute or so. I am currently downloading a single file made up of 700 articles and it queues that file every 50 articles or so. Problem would be solved if it was the only file in the queue. Nzb-o-matic has no forum to report bugs and it's older brother Nzb-o-matic plus (or NOMP) has a bug forum that isn't maintained. |
