Great piece of software. Not sure if I'm sold on it's processing of .doc files, but I personally need it for .rtf and .txt. It does great for those. Very slick interface. There are ways to configure the UI which aren't shown in the screenshots. Simple, but powerful. The free version does everything I need, but I plan to get the Plus version for $17. Why not support the cut creator. Bull City in full effect.

It might be good, but I gave it 10 minutes and it didn't play my DVD. Go get KMPlayer. Much better. KMPlayer is the one. Go see for your self.

I really enjoy this software and find Total Commander a must for everyday work. However I think TC UP comes with too much bundled in. You name it, it TC UP bundles it. Web browser, Instant Messanger, DVD player, Audio Player.... The list goes on. I really don't need all this. Worst, when you install you can't select what you want and what you don't want. The good thing is the bundle software seems pretty self contained under the TC UP install directory. So to remove it just delete the associated directory. Also, most of the software it comes with is really cool and I probably wouldn't have discovered it any other way. For example, notepad (a must have). But it does seem a bit much.

This is TotalCommander (TC) with a bunch of preinstalled plugins. The PowerPack itself is considered freeware. But TC is shareware.

It is a little overwhelming for a newbie. So start out on the standard TC. The button bars or crowded. And I'm sure there's plenty of stuff that I will never use.

Also as the other reviewer said. After installing the PowerPack, my original TC install was screwed.

With all that said, I'm still like this packaging. It helped me discover a few plugins I didn't know about. I just had to uninstall a few i don't think are useful and spend time cleaning up button bars. But other than that, I like it. And will continue to use it.

I was having trouble installing Vista. For some reason the install couldn't deal with my partitions. I tried to use Fdisk and it also had problems. I used Partition Zapper, to erase my partition table then Vista was happy. Don't expect anything fancy. But it does what it says. Plus it's small. About 15K
