    TVUPlayer 1.5.12

I have been looking at Internet TV players for awhile now with one real goal in mind. I want to watch TV over the internet, not clips or music videos, real tv with movies and sports and stuff like that. The TVUPlayer gives this to me while most of the others don't and thats the bottom line.

Features? The TVU doesn't really have many, you can't add channels from what I could figure out and the channels are limited but the P2P technology makes the picture quality very good once you get past the first couple of minutes and the choices are something you will really want to watch. Unlike other players you are resricted to the players screen size, no option to make it full screen but the size is at least watchable unlike some of those tiny screens you find on others.

The TVUplayer IS a beta release so there are some glitches, such as not being able to watch the programs over a wireless connection for very long but all in all I Like this player for what it does.

    WYSIWYG Web Builder 3.0

When I started out on the net I wanted my own website. The problem was I work 70 hours a week so learning a new scripting language like HTML was not an option. What I look for is wysiwyg editors and I have tried just about all of them. For what I want to do WB3 is by far the easiest program to work with and is being actively developed by the author (a major plus in my book). My only quible is the GUI is not quite as intuitive as I would like when it comes to using some of the advanced features. Still, compared to what else is out there I would give this program the Gold Medal for 2006.

I finally decided to see if there was something at least as good as Rampage for managing memory on a Windows XP Home OS. As it turns out, FreeRam XP Pro was just what I was looking for! Other than a small amout of murkiness in decribing the "autofree" fucntion in the initial setup I had zero trouble with getting this program up and going on my system. I especially like the way this program pays attention to what other programs are doing so when it comes time to free up some memory it doesn't wipe out memory caches already in use and cause system freezes (or crashes) the way some other un-named programs do. I agree with the SoftPedia Pick Award on this one.

    RahmanImager Basic 2.0.1

Have you ever wanted a program to just do what you wanted? Such was the case when I began my search for a graphics editor. In my case all I wanted to do was put some shaded text on a small banner which would be used on my website. I found dozens of programs that sounded like they could do this but Rahman Imager was the only one that actually allowed me to do what I wanted at a reasonable price. The package does more than that, of course, but the bottom line is this package does live up to its own hype. I like this paint/image editor alot but there is one caveat, I had to ask for my unlock/registration key 3 times before finally getting a response. To be fair, the company said they had sent out the key the same day I purchased it so maybe my spam filter blocked it... but it didn't block the response the 3rd time sooooo....

Bottom line, if you are working with static or layered images for your website then this is a very good alternative to any of the highend highcost commercial packages.

I had to think for a few seconds to get this program working correctly but the results were worth it. This program shows what a website looks like in ANY resolution you want! Not only that but it works with all the browsers I use, Opera, Firefox, Netscape and IE. This is not the limit of the tool/utility though, you can add or delete any browser you want from the list which makes it extremely handy. This is my pick for this type of utility.

The program works as advertised, it will show you what a website will look like in IE at several different preset resolutions for 30 days at least. After that if you do not purchase it then it stops working. This is TRIALWARE and I for one do not subscribe to false or misleading promotion of a product.

Nice hardware/software program. Looking for information on screen is very nice but the printer options for reporting purposes are limited. Reminds me of SiSandra or Everest with a different layout.

You say you only want the basics? This program almost does that and it is really simple to use. I wanted to know basic stuff about my machine and it did not identify my motherboard or memory type so it falls short in that regard. On the otherhand it did identify the s/n for my Windows XP and the true manufacturer of my computer instead of the brandname stamped on the front. Not bad for free and the printout fits on one page.

I like this office suite. Hassle free installation (but if you want the OpenOffice icon you must change the folder yourself... minor quible) and the operation is very similar to the commercial counterparts of Corel and Works. The word processor seems to import/export WordPerfect files better than Word files but the "touch up" needed to fix your document is very minor when there is a glitch. The spreadsheet is NOT for scientific or engineering work that requires a high degree of accuracy (I say this because the program performs automatic rounding instead of giving you the calculated results). I don't know how the presentation program works but if it is as good as the other two applications then this is one heck-of-a freeware alternative to ANY commercial program.

I decided to try this program on a fresh install of Compaq's version of Windows XP Home edition. Installation and set up went very smooth but then I noticed a very noticable drop in my computers response time. It was even slower than my "emegency standby 233mhz machine." After some serious and frustrating looks into what was going on I concluded that AntiVir is a very serious memory hog. Soooo... if you have 512meg of memory or better this looks like a nice product. Less than that I suggest you look at a different program.

I only use OE when I have no other choice. I started looking for freeware alternatives to my prefered e-mail client when my wife gave me a new computer for Christmas (sans software). Foxmail installed easy, configured with a minimum of fuss and even has two ways to learn what is spam to me and what is not spam (even when the sender makes a mistake and does something to mark their own mail as spam). I would rate the program higher if it had the ability to mark and delete messages in a batch instead of one at a time but that is just me...

I like this program! I bought it and have used it as my email client of choice since version 1.0 was released many moons ago. It integrates with the Opera web browser nicely which made me a very happy user. The Bat doesn't always display html correctly though and that can be a bummer.

I am a simple guy... I just want to manage the graphics used on my website and church newsletter... simple things, crop, resize, change a color know what I mean? This program does what I want without me having to learn how to do a bunch of things I will never use. Couldn't ask for better than that.

Thunderbird worked fine the first time I installed it. The program did everything I wanted and I was pleased enough to consider dropping "The Bat" as my e-mail client of choice.

Then I had to do a system restore under Windows XP for non-related problems and now Thunderbird will not get e-mail... Sending works fine but hey, if you cannot receive mail and the error window doesn't display anything but the first line of the error there isn't anything you can do to fix the problem.

I wish I knew more... if the program works for you its very nice but if you have the same trouble I did on the 2nd install it just isn't worth it. Life is to short...
