SpywareGuard

SpywareGuard is a small and easy-to-use application that identifies files with spyware agents before they are being downloaded to your computer. It is easy to install and set up.

Upon deployment, SpywareGuard creates an icon in the system tray area to provide real-time protection to your system, without interrupting your activity.

By bringing up its clean and intuitive console, you can check out the active SpywareGuard components, designed to scan all EXE and CAB file that may contain spyware data, prevent the downloads of malicious spyware in Internet Explorer and to alert you as soon as suspicious modifications are made to the web browser.

SpywareGuard automatically logs all activity, so you can check out the reports at any time. A few settings are available through the Options screen.

You can disable the Real-Time Scanning, Download Protection or Browser Hijack Protection module, configure settings for Download Protections (e.g. alert only, silent block), as well as set up a password to access SpywareGuard.

However, this program cannot remove spyware that has already infiltrated into your system. It runs well together with an anti-spyware system such as Spyware Blaster, in order to provide maximum protection to your PC.

The application is very low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, so it does not affect the computer's performance. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.

On the downside, the program has not been updated for a very long time, and it does not support other web browsers besides Internet Explorer. Other than that, SpywareGuard can be seamlessly figured out, even by users with less experience in such apps.
