Can Knockdown 3 for iOS

Developer Infinite Dreams has recently released the third installment in the Can Knockdown franchise. The first two games made their debut on App Store a while ago, but did not manage to raise enough attention among iOS gamers.

Fortunately, the third time was a charm for Knockdown Can franchise and developer Infinite Dreams did a much better job with the third installment.

Knockdown Can 3 is a physics-based game in which players throw baseballs at cans in order to knock them down. Every level will be rated with 1, 2 or 3 stars, but in order to progress to the next stage, you will have to score maximum in each level.

I believe this is one of the cons, as later levels can be quite frustrating for some. Luckily, you’ll be back to throwing baseballs at cans in no time using the Redo button.

For the time being, the game includes 5 stages, each featuring 20 levels. However, developers have confirmed that more challenging levels will be added soon, which will be available for free.

The gameplay is quite simple and doesn’t require a long learning curve. The only issue is if you want to play it on the iPhone.

I had no problems with the accuracy when playing Knockdown Can 3 on my iPad, but on the iPhone, some strikes are harder to attain due to the screen’s smaller size.

Opposite to iPhone, the iPad features a much larger display, so you will be able to swipe your finger up the touchscreen much easier in order to throw the ball at the cans.

Knockdown Can 3 is the virtual version of one of the oldest carnival games that attracts visitors with various awards, such as stuffed and plush toys.

This game will reward players with a 1 to 3 stars rating and access to more complex stages. As you progress, levels will become more challenging and complex, but nothing to be worried about.

Knockdown Can 3 does not punish players when it comes to progress, but for some, it might become boring. Although developers have added several “special” cans that explode when hit or offer you an extra ball, I wish they added a bit more diversity.

Aside from these “special” cans, the game features some obstacles, which are meant to make it a bit harder for players to hit the cans. Swinging hooks, barriers and moving targets are some of these “obstacles” that will make the game a bit more challenging.

It is also worth mentioning that the graphics of the game looks great for a physics-based game. This is definitely one of the title’s pros and something that will surely tempt more iOS users into purchasing Knockdown Can 3.

The game features Game Center leaderboards, as well as achievements and badges, so players can compare their progress with that of their friends. The game's soundtrack is another thing worth listing among the positive features.

The physics engine is decent enough, as I haven’t noticed any accuracy issues or anything out of the ordinary that would make me believe the game is broken.

Overall, I had a great time playing Knockdown Can 3 on my iPad. My only complaint is the fact that it’s a bit too easy for those who play physics-based games on a regular basis, which means you will be getting through all the levels available in a short time.

However, I do recommend grabbing Knockdown Can 3 to all those who love this type of game and own an iPad. I’m not sure those who plan on playing it on their iPhone devices will enjoy it as much as iPad owners, but the game is now only €0.89/$0.99 on App Store. Check it out here.
