If you had enough of the "weekly puzzle", here's something new for a change. Directly from the "Flo-Files" here comes the new "Diner Dash: Hometown Hero" game. Until now, we had a simple "Diner Dash", then a "Diner Dash 2 (the) Restaurant Rescue" and the cruise ship adventure of "Diner Dash: Flo on the Go". Today we can enjoy the "entrepreneur extraordinaire" Flo again.

Her story goes something like this. She comes back home just to find her hometown looking very bad. New vows are made and she begins her "quest" to make the town reborn one "french frie" at a time.

And here we are with the premise for Diner Dash: Hometown Hero, the latest sequel of the Diner Dash franchise, straight from the PlayFirst game labs.

So, what we can expect from the new Diner Dash? Well, of course, some new things and the same things. Diner Dash: Hometown Hero keeps the same core format that made it so popular in the beginning. In case you didn't play any of the Diner Dash games, the game-play is pretty easy. You take on the role of Flo who's gotta work in different restaurants.

You are responsible for seating customers at the right tables, taking their orders, serving the food, collecting tips (doh!) and of course, clearing the tables. All these things must be done until closing time. Of course if you reached your goal, making enough money, then you can move to the next level and another day at work.

But working in a restaurant is not that easy, not even in the virtual world. Soon enough you'll need to clean up spilled drinks, you'll have to snap pictures for tourists, bring drinks, treats and desserts, push tables together for larger groups, make flower vases and even entertain the customers with cheap chit-chats. You may wonder why you have to do all this. Well, besides being a "rule" of the game, this is what you gotta do to keep your customer in a "happy place".

Now that you see what you have to do, hold on tight, this is not the end. Imagine that the power in the restaurant goes off. Well, in this case you will have to work with a flash light... or you will have to hire an assistant, which is not the best thing for you, since you have some competition... even if it is a really "friendly" one...

Now comes the part when you have to watch for your customers. The best examples are the teenage boys and girls that love to talk on their cell phones. Ringing phones can be very annoying for the other customers around the table.

Another example could be the crying babies that some mothers carry with them. Those "things" will not stop crying until you bring a high chair for them to sit in. You will also go against the food critic, the picky and impatient customers and the group of men that will order two rounds of food... And all these when other customers wait in line for a table.

But if you do a good job the environment around will change. These can be seen after every level you won. You can upgrade the counters, floors, tables, decorations and equipment. The spectators will come back to the zoo, more animals will be added in time and the best part, parents will bring their kids back to the museum.

Still the biggest change that comes with the new Diner Dash will remain the custom stuff you get. Besides being able to make Flo look like you want to and create a waitress (or waiter) of your liking, you can also customize your restaurant.

Another cool feature of this game could be the multiplayer mode that can be accessed if you have an internet connection and you play online. You can also buy (with real money) clothes and other stuff that can be used in the game.

In the end this game is not bad at all. Even if the gameplay gets a bit frustrating at times, after three sequels, it still remains addictive and challenging. Also the graphics are not bad and the game comes with new features.

Enjoy!
