New week... New game and this time it's again... No... We do not have a puzzle this week... I was really not in the mood for one anyway...

I was about to choose one, because I didn't find any other good game around, but then... I was saved... by the Supercow. Ha! No, this game has nothing to do with the Cartoon Network show "Cow & Chicken". This is a game developed by the NevoSoft game studios and is more hilarious than I imagined.

And the plot goes down something like this... Imagine the sun shining (it's easy... summer just passed), birds singing (no, you are not doing a relaxing exercise for the mind and body), the crops were swaying in the wind ("the answer my friend is blowing in the wind...!) animals are having a tan in the sun... or something... in short life is good in Sunny Valley (yes, a very inspired name, but anyway...).

But wait... This is the moment when something needs to go wrong. And indeed it does. A very bad, bad person escaped from prison, and his name is... Professor Duriarti! (OMG!) But do not despair, humble animals of the farm... Supercow is on her way to the rescue!

From the series of arcade games, Supercow is a side-scrolling platform game. What I liked about this one is the fact that it gets very challenging without being too difficult to control. It will instantly remind you of any other old-school arcade game like... I dunno... Mario... but this one is still original and fun to play.

The first level is not much work, especially since all you have to do is jump and run, collecting coins. Along the way you will find question marks that will indicate secrets, new discoveries or just guide you through the game. Your main goal in every stage is to find the exit.

The next levels start to have a few "mobs" spread around in the game. Those mobs are called "snails" because basically they are, like Supercow writes in her journal: "snails with beautiful eyes". The next levels will unveil a few secrets necessary for unlocking the exit.

Like I said, the game is very easy to play and probably because you can play it using either the mouse or keyboard. Personally I will recommend the keyboard for a better precision of your hero's actions. There is not much to do basically... You run left to right, jump up and look down.

Leveling up, you will start to meet other Duriarti critters beside snailsn like dogs, moles, crows, spiders, frogs, bats and so on. To eliminate these dangers all you have to do is to jump on their heads. Now... speaking of bonuses, because we didn't mention anything about those so far: in this game there are coins, gold, gems, nuggets, bracelets, lockets, goblets, rings and more.

But a super-hero is not complete without power-ups. Supercow has them too: health-enhancing objects like tasty fruits, "extra-life" hearts, cartons of super-milk and first-aid kits are just some of them. The other good news is that these goodies add to your total score too.

And the good news doesn't stop here. Every level has its "Deja Vu mushrooms". These things serve as a "check-point" - where you have to save the game, in case you die during the level. Waking up the sleeping Deja-vu mushroom will make you restart the level from where you last died, instead of taking it from the top.

Unfortunately the game isn't all sugar, spice and everything nice. This one here has its "bugs" too. We do not have a difficulty adjustment. Also, Supercow does not have a variety of attack moves, beside those jumping on enemies' heads, and the game also lacks the in-game help.

But in the end it's a game that's worth the time or at least a try... or more! Enjoy the graphics and the fun game-play!
