No matter how much we hate it, we're not immortals, so every minute we lose won't ever get back, since every step we make takes us closer to our last. Anyway, there's no reason to be sad about this, since proper time management can help you enjoy your life and have as much time for yourself as possible. Of course that proper time management can help you grow your own business the best way possible or deliver 120% performance for the company you are working in, but in the end, the best result is the spare time you can get for your personal use, as I was just saying.

The notebook time management is obsolete today, but advanced cell phones and organizers have the right tools to help you manage your time easily. Of course that it would be a real shame for your computer not to be able to perform a task that's a piece of cake for your phone or your organizer, so if we get the right tool, our PCs can easily manage our daily tasks and help us plan our lives better. The software tool that I have here for this purpose is called Calendarscope and I'll tell you more about it right away...

This software calendar I have here has reached version 3.0 and of course that you'll have to pay for it, and the price is 39.95$, but don't worry, you can use the full featured evaluation version until you feel the need for free upgrades and technical support by email, and of course that after registering, you'll get rid of the nag screen... The setup package has 2.3MB in size and installing the program should be easy for all of you reading this, so the next stops are the interface and features, as usual.

When we're talking about programs like this one, the only thing I require from its interface is to be at least average for the current century and nothing more, because I don't want to waste time staring at it. You don't have to worry, because Calendarscope's interface is better than that. There isn't a large amount of graphics available here, but everything looks good and the elements are well organized, making this program really easy to use. The main window has a toolbar, an information bar, a view area split into a schedule pane and a calendar and, at last, a taskpad.

One of the reasons that make me avoid using such programs for personal use is that I am afraid that I'll start wasting time scheduling tasks that I won't ever get to complete, and so, I get to plan everything in my mind. So far, so good, things work pretty well, but people using Calendarscope efficiently shouldn't have such problems.

First thing that you have to choose after starting this program is the display mode to use, since you can go from a one-day view up to an entire year. Probably the most efficient layouts to use are the multi-day mode (between two and fourteen days), the week and month views. Once you have chosen the current view mode, you can start adding tasks.

Adding tasks in Calendarscope is very easy, all you have to do is right click the field corresponding to the time of the task and choose New Event, select its type and then just enter the details. If you don't find the event type you want to enter, you don't have to worry, because the program allows you to create new ones very easy.

A really useful feature of this program is the ability to load Holiday files containing the holidays for a certain country or religion. This way, you can switch between the official holidays and Christian Religious holidays with only a few mouse clicks!

The current schedule can be easily printed or exported as a HTML page, making this program useful for companies, too. I always thought that the best motivation for work is not really the amount of money you earn, but the joy of every free day, I am not talking about longer holidays, because those are pure ecstasy! Anyway... this program's so easy, yet so powerful, that words are meaningless and best way to find out more about its look and feel is to download, install and run it, but first you'll have to check the conclusions and screenshots I still have for you...

The Good

Calendarscope is a really useful program, being easy to use, reliable and full of handy features. Even better, its documentation is very detailed and can help you get started in no time, and the evaluation version has no functional limitations, apart from a nag screen that is displayed at startup!

The Bad

The only thing that I don't like about this program is its price, because I think that 10$ less would sound a lot better, but business is business, and I am not the one to change the world...

The Truth

Calendarscope is one of those programs that can really help you earn the most valuable resource on Earth: time. Since the evaluation version is so generously gifted with all the features of the full program, I can't say anything else than "grab it now"!
