So, tired of the well known Microsoft Internet Explorer? Do you want a little change to your online experience and you are hesitant in what to choose? Don't know too much about those internet security problems and about the new emerging browsers?

Well, allow me to take my chance in presenting you this full featured internet browser - Enigma Browser - that should satisfy every PC user that is not so much concerned about the graphic part of browsing but is in need of a secure and fast loading of the pages. A very good part of this program is that it is a freeware which reminds that „software, like sex, is better when it's free".

Enigma has all the must have features of a today's browser. It integrates tab-page interface which enables multiple site browsing (here I must point out the presence of the minimize and maximize buttons near the close one on every opened tab). The within windows can be cascaded horizontally and vertically and I found very useful that pad in the upper side that lets you navigate your tabs in the order you opened them (through other options).

The program has a useful popup killer and site filter and it also offers the suppress of the script errors (that's quite smart because not everybody is interested in script debugging). The startup option panel is very intelligent, offering „open a specified group" option which I also found very useful.

The program has a proxy manager (you can also disable the proxies) and an autologin feature that can leave behind the annoying part of completing your data every time you login to
a specific site. Of course you can execute java applets and enable/disable Flash ActiveX animations (you need administrative rights to change this capability).

The standard toolbar has some very practical shortcuts like block popup, download control, read email, zoom and edit Webpage (with the ScriptPad).

This browser is for those users which aren't at their very first use of a PC but at the same time aren't so advanced to manage with an expert and full of options web browser.

I will not bother you anymore with my description and I'll leave it up to you to discover this simple and fast browser that should replace any time your old Internet Explorer.

The good

Enigma browser integrates a useful ScriptPad for VBScript, Jscript, HTML and Text files. It will come up to your left side of the main window allowing you to take notes and edit your scripts or simply copying your favorite lines and saving them.

The bad

In my opinion the browser lacks multimedia functions like modern skin support (only a few included and a pretty hard to use new skin designer), it doesn't have a RSS reader and the favorites organizer is not quite intuitive for simple use.

The truth

I must say that this browser is the best substitute I've seen for Internet Explorer for those people who simply wouldn't do it with a more featured browser and want a new secure and very fast internet experience.

Here are some snapshots of the application in action:

I tried Enigma based on this review. I am in love! It has the ability to get into the cache and copy files from it that all modern browsers do lack. Any movie to picture file can be copied without the use of quasi functional B.H.O.s even when the sites disallow downloading.
