Hotspot Shield from AnchorFree is designed as a simple approach to offering the regular user the benefits of a virtual private network (VPN). Besides maintaining anonymity online, a VPN can also keep your connection safe as it can encrypt online traffic by routing the connection through the company’s servers.
The application is available in two editions. One free of charge and supported through advertising, while the other, Hotspot Shield Elite, is clean of ads and can be purchased for a $29.95/ 26.43 EUR yearly fee or as a $10 / 8.83 EUR pay-as-you-go service valid for 20 days. Although the two versions are pretty similar, the advertising in the free product does a great job at making Elite more appealing. Shelling out the money also brings to the table faster browsing and cloud-based protection against a wider range of online threats (malware, infected websites and phishing). Installing the Hotspot Shield Elite consists in pretty much going through the screens without making any modifications. It offers to add a toolbar to Internet Explorer and Firefox, but the option is unchecked by default, unlike in the free version. Once you have Hotspot Shield on the system, a small icon will be added to the browsers top bar, next “minimize” button. It shows the current status of the VPN connection (green if it is on and red if it is off) and hovering over it displays the amount of data trafficked. When turned on, Hotspot Shield encrypts your browsing sessions and routs the connection through AnchorFree’s own servers. This not only secures the connection, but it also ensures that your IP remains private, as attempts to find your IP will hit the company’s servers. The configuration panel is pretty straightforward and sports a small amount of options. You can set the application to warn when the computer connects to the Internet over unsecure Wi-Fi networks or untrusted wired ones. It can also automatically turn on and keep you protected when such networks are detected. Additional settings let you enable or disable the browser icon or starting Hotspot Shield when Windows loads up. As far as malware protection is concerned, Elite version of the software relies on data retrieved from a cloud database containing more than 3.5 million domains known or suspected to harbor malicious content. This includes phishing sites and pages created to deliver malware. The database is updated regularly. In the case of the free edition, the protection is limited only to websites created to push malware onto your computer. Speed is an important factor when using a VPN. Hotspot Shield Elite offers routing through a US-based IP and, as such, if you are based in a different region, the connection might be noticeably slower. Nevertheless, access to content that would not regularly be available at the expense of speed is a tradeoff plenty of users are willing to make. If you are in US, the difference should be insignificant. AnchorFree does not impose any bandwidth restrictions, so you can use the application without worrying about data cap. Hotspot Shield Elite is designed mainly for two things: keep your connection to the Internet secure regardless of the network used and maintain your IP private. It achieves both almost seamlessly, if it weren’t for the browsing speed slowdown, which is understandable and unavoidable if you are at the far end of the VPN server. The larger the bandwidth, the less grievance this will give you. Deriving from these two are other advantages, such as access to content that might otherwise be restricted in your area and protection over unsecure Wi-Fi connections. It is easy to use and requires almost no configuration. The Good We did not have to wait much to be assigned an IP and thus be ready for secure browsing (traffic is sent to AnchorFree VPN server using 128-bit encryption). The connection status is easily available in all major browsers. The application can automatically turn on when you connect to a new or unsecure network or it can emit a warning about it. The Bad Apart from the impact on speed, which is unavoidable and more noticeable, the farther you are from the VPN server, Hotspot Shield Elite caused us no grievance. The Truth Hotspot Shield Elite achieves its goal of securing your Internet connection and protecting the anonymity of the user online with no hassle whatsoever. It is easy to use and can connect automatically to the VPN when an unsecure network is detected. Note: We have 50 licenses to give away for Hotspot Shield Elite. In order to win one of them you are expected to come up with a smart, original post, about the application in the comments section below. The campaign ends on August 29 and the winners will be notified by the end of that week; needless to say that we need valid email addresses in order to contact you.

| Comment #1 by: Richard Benito on 25 Aug 2012, 12:50 UTC | reply to this comment | Pssst. Want to get around the Internet censors in your country? Use Hotspot Shield. That’s the name of the free, ad-based web-surfing tool that covers your tracks so that no one can cut off your access to sites.
The Hotspot Shield is a creation of AnchorFree, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based startup. The “virtual private network” tool is already used by millions of users in places such as China and Iran, where it’s illegal to get to uncensored sites such as Twitter or YouTube. The tool is supported by seven languages, and it is issuing a version for the Macintosh today.
anchor-1AnchorFree has 7.5 million monthly users, up more than 500 percent this year. They use it mostly because their web browsing can’t be tracked. The users log into the Hotspot Shield site, which takes the user’s Internet Protocol address and tosses it out. Then it assigns a temporary IP address that stays with the user during browsing.
Normally, Chinese censors can block users from getting to sites by stopping the users via their Internet service providers. The ISPs are told to block certain IP addresses. But they can’t easily block the Hotspot Shield IP addresses, which are generated on the fly. They can try to block access to Hotspot Shield itself, but it isn’t easy, says David Gorodyansky, founder and chief executive of AnchorFree.
It effectively turns an “http:” web address into a secure “https:” address. This is an expensive way to get around censors, since AnchorFree has set up a lot of server computing power to encrypt its communications and serve its users. Others charge for such VPN service, but ad-supported AnchorFree can provide the service for free. The VPN is in use in 190 countries and can be used on Windows and Mac desktops, laptops, and iPhones. Users view more than a billion pages per month.
The service is pretty easy to install. You activate the VPN just be clicking on an icon on the desktop. A splash page tells you that a secure connection has been made to the Hotspot Shield site. You can then browse the web. The AnchorFree search bar appears at the top of the page. Ads are shown to the users, but no user data is collected.
AnchorFree has a growing audience in countries like the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China. About 4 million users each month access Google via Hotspot Shield. This activity generates more than 22 million page views a month. About 800,000 users access YouTube via Hotspot Shield, generating over 10 million page views per month.
Of course, there are some problems here. Advertisers won’t be able to get much good data on the people viewing their ads in this kind of scheme. Also, people who are evading the law — organized criminals or drug dealers — and don’t want to be tracked can also use this kind of communication system. |

| Comment #1.2 by: rumiguru on 28 Aug 2012, 12:53 GMT | I have used HotSpot for a quite some time and I find it to be the safest way to be on the Internet.Like they say prevention is better then the cure and if you spend anytine on the Internet ,this is a must tool to use.You will be like a ghost and do all you want on the web,at times it is slow but I rather have that and know I am protected from hackers and thieves.
This is a must software to have and to boot it is FREE and even the ADs cannot track you. |
| Comment #2 by: Cocuta on 25 Aug 2012, 13:31 UTC | reply to this comment | I often use the free versions of both Hotspotshield and Expatshield when I have to access region restricted sites. It's a pitty that they cannot coexist at the same time on a computer. Even so, I always prefered and trusted Anchorfree, and I find no nuisance in alternately installing them as needed. |

| Comment #5 by: eric on 25 Aug 2012, 14:56 UTC | reply to this comment | Context: I know one of the best VPNs out there is hosted by Strongvpn.com They encrypt the whole connection, don't limit bandwidth so you can download at will, and have various packages all containing a number of VPN host servers to connect to, and if I recall they have at least 50 of them all over the world. Which is useful to get the best performance, remove forum bans, country limitation i.e., NASA.gov, Amazon.com (a lot of stuff only for USA), and this can be circumvented. Since the whole connection is encrypted, makes it hell on hackers to get to you.
Review: That brings us to Hotspot Sheild free. High points for compatibility; works on my 90MB nlite ISO. It does not encrypt the whole connection, but it is free and the full version which shares the same limitation is only 30$/year. Test performed as expected; they don't limit browsing speed, but they throttle download speed; mine hit 20kb/s low, but my connection peaks at 200kb/s and that was strictly when downloading; nevertheless who doesn't download and what - you're going to turn it off to download then turn it back on? I guess, if you are on a budget definitely one way to go. The 128bit encryption is forgivable as it will suit most, but I must have AES 256. They don't provide an option to change IP address (VPN host). So many of the benefits associated with modern VPN service are not included; this is budget VPN. The interface is simple, almost too simple; I kept looking for where the options were. They're aren't many. No hacker protection, but descent malware protection without blocking file sharing sites. Ironically, there were no adds when I was using the product. The full version, unlimited browser traffic/speed and no adds. The deal breaker for me is the inability to change IPs. That is a serious limitation. How this product shines, is if you compare it to a popular free product like "Tor Browser Bundle" and similar free alternatives, it provides you with unconstrained browsing for the invisible ad here and there. I'm telling you, no ads on my end. So, although I criticized it to hell, I did to provide the whole picture, it is a very good product; budget VPN. |
| Comment #6 by: kakou on 25 Aug 2012, 16:08 UTC | reply to this comment | I have used hotspot shield free for more than two years ,it is my favorite app , simple and straightforward application for Internet security and privacy .
I have found it a blog for the first time and i didn't forget it since then. |
| Comment #7 by: Brian on 25 Aug 2012, 16:20 UTC | reply to this comment | It is very easy to use and not as intimidating as setting up OpenVPN.
The friendly blue and green color scheme makes XP users feel at home almost as if it were part of Windows. Speeds are fast enough for me in the U.S. that I often forget I'm using a vpn.
Test to make sure Hotspot Shield works on all the sites you want to use before upgrading. The IPs of the free version are banned on some sites. Hulu detected the IP I was using was a proxy and would not play. All popular open proxy services have this issue.
The malware protection which blocks malicious sites is the same thing as what is already included for free in browsers like Firefox, Comodo Dragon, or Chrome. You could also use OpenDNS to get similar security from bad URLs/IPs. |
| Comment #8 by: RWW on 25 Aug 2012, 17:38 UTC | reply to this comment | Hotspot Shield Elite doesn't make the best coffee you have ever drank. It also may not be your first choice for Fido's panic attack disorder. You might utilize it when you finally get around to performing that do it yourself pacemaker surgery you have considered, but then may be not. But if are thinking about installing the very best VPN application - you MUST install Hotspot Shield Elite. |

| Comment #9 by: Grumphus on 25 Aug 2012, 18:17 UTC | reply to this comment | Hotspot Shield has one of the slickest interfaces in my opinion. This is very important because there are tons of apps that try to mimic this functionality but end up failing miserably. Because the developers paid much attention to the design of the interface, I believe this is a quality program for anonymous web browsing. |
| Comment #10 by: pensplace on 25 Aug 2012, 19:13 UTC | reply to this comment | Has been intending to use a VPN a long time, tested many VPN's found most of them to be slow. Need to check this one out. |
| Comment #11 by: h0m3r2000 on 25 Aug 2012, 20:41 UTC | reply to this comment | I have only just started using the hotspot shield and I haven't notice much in the way of speed loss. If it had full encryption that would be very nice and some more options for settings it would be better. I overall love that they are providing this service as ad supported even though having ads is annoying. |

| Comment #17 by: kenchan on 26 Aug 2012, 02:19 UTC | reply to this comment | i'have been using hotspot shield for 4 months, i'have downloaded it from softpedia, its very usefull when using wifi, speed also very good even my country is far from US. But my speed is reduced very low for 5 minutes, when i'm using my 4G usb drive, without HS its ok, but after 5 mins speed become normal.., still i like this software so much, very usefull, very reliable, i can accees websites that blocked in my country...currently i'm using HS for 95% when i connect to internet..i really want the Elite version..TQ |
| Comment #18 by: stealth4 on 26 Aug 2012, 03:40 UTC | reply to this comment | I have used the Elite version of this product for about three months. It is great as an anonymous VPN: it appears that the server I use is located in San Jose , CA. As I live about three hundred miles from San Jose, my browsing and download speeds are fast. If they had servers located in Europe(as Security Kiss Tunnel does,) there would be more options for anonymity. Therefore, I chain these two proxy addresses to help solve the problem. |
| Comment #19 by: hakah on 26 Aug 2012, 03:44 UTC | reply to this comment | I have never used VPN since now as I am afraid of being infected and does not know if it may affect my pc system. Though VPN is excellent to hide your actual IP address by connecting to various countries to download softwares or applications even under country's restriction. Most websites and my friends highly recommend Hotspot Shield Elite as being the First and Best software in protecting your own privacy and Personal Identity by ensuring you with utmost security and safety. At the same time, it does provide you with antivirus protection to your pc and easy access to any websites in any country at your own choice. It has no impact on your pc system and does not slow down the working performance. Most important of all, it is very easy to work with and its configuration is simple to understand. With these great benefits, I really want to try it and hope I can win it in this Giveaway.
Many thanks to Spftpedia for organizing such a Special Giveaway of this
Special and Valuable Hotspot Shield Elite product! |
| Comment #20 by: Prince on 26 Aug 2012, 03:47 UTC | reply to this comment | I have been using hotspot shield in the Middle East to bypass the firewall blocking skype and other voip services |
| Comment #21 by: fiosuser on 26 Aug 2012, 04:20 UTC | reply to this comment | I have used the free version of Hotspot Shield in the past and it was very useful. I used it to transmit data over public Wi-Fi hotspots such as ones in Starbucks or airports. It encrypts the entire connection so anyone using packet sniffers (which someone most likely is going to be when your using public Wi-Fi) would only be able to see random data, which they would not be able to decipher.
I highly recommend Hotspot Shield. The only feature that I would like to see in a future update to to change the outgoing country's server location. |
| Comment #22 by: Asim Omer on 26 Aug 2012, 05:19 UTC | reply to this comment | I use it to open sites that is forbidden in my country like adobe, avast, java, chrome and many others. So I need this license so much. |

| Comment #28 by: amik on 26 Aug 2012, 10:42 UTC | reply to this comment | I have been used Hotspot Shield for several years before the arrival of Elite Edition, but as long as I use it had become much advertisements in browser and so annoying, so I stopped and moved to use Cyberghost VPN free and I passed to paid edition. I'm satisfied with this service, but since Hotspot shield has released Elit (paid Edition), so I'd like to test how it works, hoping with much better service than before. Apart from the annoying advertisement, it performed very well on spped, even I used public Wifi.
I was so appreciated. |

I had always been testing and trying different sort of VPN service. It is definitely better in comparison to Tor in term of speed wise. | Comment #45 by: Sraul on 26 Aug 2012, 18:45 UTC | reply to this comment | Hotspot Shield has come a long way giving service to the users and have been imrpoved from a crappy free proxy service to the now choice of many. This is not as intimidating or difficult than OpenVPN and is much more simplistic. Compared to Comodo VPN I prefer Hotspot Shield better. For those starters and novice that care to put privacy in front I'd recommend this app anytime. |
| Comment #46 by: JohnC on 26 Aug 2012, 18:52 UTC | reply to this comment | These days having/using a virtual private network (VPN) between your laptop
and the wireless router is a must. Privacy is and always will be "king" because it ain't good for anybody to see you as an open book wherever you are. Auto encryption and protection from inbound/outbound threats like snoopers/hackers via HS connection is simple and straight forward. Free version can work but the benefits of a license is badly needed now due to added security and support. This is a must for any serious internet user. |

as far as encryption goes, though not very important to me, it's very nice to have a secure connection, with all those kind of malware and stuff spread all around the internet, i am
sure that it will be a handy security feature when the time comes
with all that said, i even have it on my GM androind phone, and it's working just great

as far as encryption goes, though not very important to me, it's very nice to have a secure connection, with all those kind of malware and stuff spread all around the internet, i am
sure that it will be a handy security feature when the time comes
with all that said, i even have it on my GM androind phone, and it's working just great
you should all try it if you haven't already, truly a good program (y). |
| Comment #56 by: Bala on 27 Aug 2012, 05:18 UTC | reply to this comment | I tried the free version and was pretty good. It was stable and usable. Only thing I hate are the ads. I would really like to get the elite version. I had a pretty decent speed but as always some speed will be reduced. Its a good product and has an easy to use UI. Also it is not lot large and setting it is easier than other VPNS. |
| Comment #57 by: Jaywin on 27 Aug 2012, 05:35 UTC | reply to this comment | I used to use this program 4 years ago. Back then it only used to work with Internet Explorer. Hotspot Shield was very slow for me. Many times it did not even connect. I don't think the elite version will make much of a difference, but I could be wrong. |
| Comment #58 by: raman on 27 Aug 2012, 06:14 UTC | reply to this comment | There is no need to say about this tiny and shiny tool.I have already used its free version and block advertisements using adblocker. The main reason to use this tool it is more effective in less memory. |
| Comment #59 by: abu aufa on 27 Aug 2012, 06:39 UTC | reply to this comment | Free version works well. Paid one must be Excellent. Sometime my ISP blocked some sites randomly. My bad.
I wish I am the winner ...
Thank to SP |
| Comment #60 by: Rover on 27 Aug 2012, 07:35 UTC | reply to this comment | I have been using the "Free Hotspot Shield" for a while and found some problem in 64bit operating system. Suppose... suddenly shutdown (which is very risky) as find myself without proxy directly connected (sometimes without even knowing). I guess there are some bugs, still they need to develop properly and my idea (if even sometimes the proxy server connection broken) then should also shutdown the current browser automatically. That way the user will feel more secure while using it.
Thanks |

The malware censor phishing heat.
AnchorFree is so discrete.
Secured with servers not deceit.
VPNs are such a treat,
With this software it's complete. |
| Comment #67 by: Andrea on 27 Aug 2012, 15:12 UTC | reply to this comment | Ok,let's see...You can't get access on Western countries websites because you live in a place where the internet is censored, is hat right?
.....or perhaps.....
....you have been banned from a forum simply because you didn't agree with its moderator and/or majority of its bloggers on a whatsoever issue but you are eager to take revenge by posting other comments there using a different IP address?
.....or maybe....
...you are online but don't like the idea that somebody, like Big G brother for instance, may be "spying" your online habits by tracking your web browsing sessions for commercial purposes?
.....or....
....are you fed up with being bombarded by spammy email, like the one which promise you to enhance your manhood, after visiting adult websites (yes...it can happen sometimes, can't it?? lol !!!).
And what if a hacker or lamer can detect your real IP while browisng, taking control of your machine afterwards without you knowing? And how about encrypting your traffic by turning your web address into a more secure "https" address, kissing snoopers goodbye?
What?? Oh Gosh... you'd like to see American NBA matches on the web or want to attend a US paid survey but unfortunately you don't live in US??
Or perhaps you are connected on a public wifi connection at an airport, but you are scared by the idea that someone with a packet sniffer software could easily tap into your data stream, stealing your email messages, passwords, credit card numbers etc??
Don't worry and be happy: just Use HOTSPOT SHIELD.
Of course advertisers and Big G brother won’t be happy for this, but honestly who cares (lol)?? Trust me dudes... if you spend most of your time on unsecure public Wi-Fi networks, this progrm is a must have tool.
But hey.....wait a moment! Isn't it true that there are plenty of free VPN services out there which can perform as well & effectively as this app?
Yes there are but there is a catch as well to use them, because you are usually asked to pay pretty high charges for the backend server and any data communication that is incurred, unless you are so clever to run your own VPN server. But how many people out there are able to run their own VPN private server? 0.1%, right??? lol!
Don't have money to invest?? Ok, if you are really a beggar and the idea of random advertisments being injected into a Website while browsing doesn't bother you, just grab the FREE version of this program: what's the problem in doing this, huh? Otherwise my suggestion is to buy the software which is absolutely worth every penny of its price: trust me baby!!
Be happy, don't worry...after all you have nothing to lose and all to gain, haven't you?
Sweet!! |

| Comment #76 by: YJP on 27 Aug 2012, 23:50 UTC | reply to this comment | For someone to take time to make such a product for others to use is in itself, an amazing thing. I've been living overseas for quite some time and I was very happy to discover Hotspot Shield. I cannot complain at all about
the product as it does what it says it is meant to do.
I guess I'm an average computer user who just wants to seek information and news without having to worry about being checked or monitored. This product gives me some peace of mind.
To win this giveaway or not isn't the point of my comments. I'm just happy
that Hotspot Shield exists. I recommend it to friends all the time.
Please continue to develop this product. |

Nobody is safe online with Government snooping around.
Hotspot shield is very useful, I've tried the free version and it's an awesome VPN solution available for free. It encrypt packets being send to the route, making the user anonymous.
It's a very useful tool even for the naive user.
It's a must have for anybody who is concerned with his/her presence/privacy online.
I recommend it to everybody. |

| Comment #83 by: James on 28 Aug 2012, 06:50 UTC | reply to this comment | Hotspot Shield is the most widely used free VPN in the world but just being introduced with a lot of advertisements. If you want to use the ad-free version just pay a small amount and enjoy the Elite version. I have used the elite version before (currently, using the free version) and its really good. You will notice that your IP address is like roaming around the world if you check it in whatismyipaddress.com from time to time. You are like surfing from Europe, North and South America and Asia. But the nicest of all about Hotspot Shield Elite is that it is the cheapest of all VPN I've known compared to other VPN services that cost more than $100 for a year. Unlike Hotspot Shield Elite, one-year subscription will only cost you at around $29.95. This is really recommended for me if you want to use a VPN service. |
| Comment #84 by: Salman on 28 Aug 2012, 07:23 UTC | reply to this comment | Hotspot Shield is a must use software and service every time surfing internet in public wifi. Todays it comes with cool looking user interface and more stable connections. I'm glad they make Hotspot Shield Elite as optional for people who don't like ads but I dislike the monthly price $10 for 20 days. A bit expensive than other similar service. |

| Comment #90 by: tbisch on 28 Aug 2012, 13:10 UTC | reply to this comment | The Software is easy enough for anyone to use and it blends in with the Windows 7 theme easily so it is not an eyesore. iI is effective in it job and from what i have found no website has been able to find my location while using the software. it does however slow down my computer on its initial start up. I ran multiple browser location tests while using Hotspot Shield and none of the sites were able to detect my location. |

| Comment #94 by: piment on 29 Aug 2012, 00:24 UTC | reply to this comment | I've recently started using the Hotshield Free Service and I am very impressed. I like that it's not obstructive while giving me full speed unrestricted but protected access to the web.
Though as mentioned by others I have fallen victim to having my true IP address being revealed when the program lost its connection without my being aware of it.
My suggestion if not already implemented is to have a window displayed warning users of the loss of connectivity in such circumstances as one is not always mindful of the icon changing color in the taskbar.
The additional advantages included in the Elite version will certainly be a very welcome addition to using and benefiting from what is a fantastic service and product. |

| Comment #100 by: JP on 29 Aug 2012, 13:16 UTC | reply to this comment | Every time I test the various VPN solutions on the market, I always eventually end up coming back to Hotspot, because it is a solution that is simple and works as intended...
When I'm out and travel, I am often connected to wireless networks which is not 100% safe and here is Hotspot a super solution and helps ensure my data...
I will be extremely happy if I had the opportunity to permanently use the Elite version ... |
| Comment #101 by: Dynamite on 29 Aug 2012, 14:55 UTC | reply to this comment | When I travel all over the world and need to be safe on all the wireless networks that I connect to, Hotspot is one of the best VPN solutions ...
And I would like to use the Elite version for complete protection ... |
| Comment #102 by: Dirty Harry on 29 Aug 2012, 15:56 UTC | reply to this comment | Shield up your Hotspot connection with Elite protection provided by AnchorFree. It’s great if you want to surf to the dirty spots of the web. Some people like old-fashioned smut, but they wouldn’t want anyone else to find out about this; so I think Hotspot Shield would be a good tool to cater for their needs and keep them safe even if they connect from unprotected WiFis; not to mention that you can also do some online banking in a secure way. |
| Comment #103 by: J. Random on 29 Aug 2012, 17:13 UTC | reply to this comment | I have used the freeware version of Hotspot Shield in the past and found it extremely simple to set up and use. As I am not a technical-minded person myself, I know I would have problems configuring software such as OpenVPN, which require at least a minimal amount of knowledge of networking protocols and comfort with the command line to fully get the benefits of. Hotspot Shield is one of those point-click installs that gets you running in little to no time, without any technical knowledge necessary. Of course, the freeware version is much less comprehensive and featured than its payware upgrades, which can only be improvements on the "bare-bones" version's ease of use and offer more flexibility.
I am a fervent believer in users' right to privacy on the Internet, which is why I am a big proponent of software like Hotspot, Tor, and web-based proxy sites. For ultimate security and privacy, you're better off going with a paid-for subscription VPN service; not surprisingly, these are advertised on numerous BitTorrent websites and download forums. But privacy concerns are not just the realm of pirate downloaders and supporters of "Anonymous" -- they should be the concern of all of us in an increasingly surveillance-prone society in which governments and corporations salivate at the opportunity to collect user data. Programs such as Hotspot Shield attempt to block this activity by "the powers that be," although I personally cannot vouch for the company's own attitudes about internet privacy in general, considering AnchorFree's geographic proximity to Yahoo!, a known cooperator with the Chinese government's requests to read users' emails and instant messages.
But if you can't afford a paid-for VPN and want something relatively simple to shield your IP address from snoopers, and want to try something different from Tor or web-based proxies like vTunnel or Anonymouse, give Hotspot a try. My only gripe so far is that an open-source version doesn't exist, but as Internet privacy becomes a major issue that consumers continue to voice their concerns about, who knows what will happen in the future. |
| Comment #104 by: MarioReturns on 29 Aug 2012, 17:22 UTC | reply to this comment | Programs like Hotspot Shield and other VPN solutions is unfortunately a necessity if you want accessing the network from networks other than your own network, and still be sure that others do not misuse the transmitted data...
hotspot Shield help people cope with this problem in an easy and painless way |
| Comment #105 by: recon on 29 Aug 2012, 17:51 UTC | reply to this comment | Being a disabled Vet with TBI sometimes makes routine tasks seem more difficult than they are. It depends on the fustration level at that exact moment. By having a Hotspot Shield it enables me to surf the web by giving me more confidence when I am clicking a link. It helps me with the "Looking over my shoulder" routine that many of us continue to do. Hotspot Shield not only performs as advertised but by making me relax a little more it helps me from clicking on links I normally wouldn't. I can only compare it it with "having someone watching your back" while you try to do what is routine for many. I would love to have "Elite". Somedays it's hard trying to blend in with others. Hot spot shield allows me to be more comfortable on those days when my only outlet is contacting old friends via laptop and being less jumpy that I'm going to sign in to the wrong site. I know no program is 100% foolproof but for me this program doe's more than what is adverised. Having another weapon is always a good thing. |
| Comment #106 by: Alfred on 29 Aug 2012, 19:20 UTC | reply to this comment | Imagine what it’s like to constantly try to find ways to keep a certain someone’s identity secret online, especially when he starts badmouthing others with much superior talents than his. And when I say “superior” I really hardcoded abilities like natural ability to fly around or run across rooftops and swing from building to building.
There are people out there (not too many, though) that can generate acid, spit fire or manipulate reality. There’s one chick that can even become invisible. These are some of the characters my master picks on and tries to demean, out of spite, I guess, because he’s 100% human and has to devise all sorts of contraptions just to be above par.
With someone like this to take care of I have to resort even to such giveaways. For the good of a certain city, please help me keep him hidden online, at least for one year. If Hotspot Shield holds true to its reputation it’ll be on the shopping list next year. |
| Comment #107 by: BobyAndrey on 29 Aug 2012, 20:59 UTC | reply to this comment | Just now 29 august at 11:30 PM I found this giveaway and hope to enter the contest because using this great software now two years since I watched a tutorial about it. Ever since I heard of it I use every day to browse suspicious websites or sites that the Internet is censored in my country. I really quite a few sites that you frequently censored most media content all in my country and that's using Hotspot Shield free manage to access them, but as I have no internet connection and how much better through a software which gives us access to a virtual private network loading speed is lower sites I need Elite version of this software to have a very good experience with those sites.
I want to say that I tried other software that provides access to a virtual private network but nothing satisfied me as hotspot shield all had something that did not fit, one is slow, another disconnect at a certain time etc.. the only thing more annoying ads Hotspot is free version, but understandable.
I hope to win because I really need a license and keep up the good work! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for all the promotions you offer, you're the best!

Keep up the good work.
Va multumesc foarte mult pentru toate promotiile pe care le oferiti, sunteti cei mai buni!!!
