There are lots and lots of people who have huge amounts of music burdening the HDDs in their PCs, but when it comes to ordering it in a physical manner, they just shrug their shoulders. Even I have troubles when I have to think about such matters, and this is why I rejoiced when I saw the Mp3 List Maker De Luhe and realized what nice things it could do for me.

Technically, there is no special or "magic" work in what the Mp3 List Maker De Luhe does; what it really does are simple things, but in a fast and secure manner, with very good results. Many times I've thought about the early days of digital music, about how nice it would have been if I had - at certain moments - extensive lists containing the full amount of mp3 I possessed...in a way I am even a bit sad that only now do I find out about this software. Nevertheless, I'll write with joy about this little piece of code.

The Looks

Mp3 List Maker De Luhe looks as plain and simple as it also works: a small and very tidy window with very precise ordering and design, oriented strictly towards functionality and almost nothing at all aims at those "funky" looks. Of course, this does not mean that its GUI is not OK: it's rather very compact and has only what really had to be there; no skins or color schemes, neither semi-useful commands nor even areas. In fact, as I look again and again at the Mp3 List Maker De Luhe, I realize that the developers haven't even left an empty space: everything has been more than efficiently utilized and for a good reason as well - the main window has a fixed size.

The buttons are also task-oriented and even though they are large and have icons on them, these elements are visibly smaller than the extremely-readable text present on each. This also ensures that no one presses the wrong button by mistake.

The results can be shown in 4 variations, depending on each user's needs and each of these modes can be a little tweaked in what text/HTML options are concerned.

The Works

Mp3 List Maker De Luhe's inner workings are quite easy to understand: the software will look in the sectors you have specified and index all the mp3 files it will find. Depending on what you need, it will then copy certain data from each file's header and then put it into a database.

All these entries will be interpreted in a manner of your own choice, and will be displayed in plain text, HTML, XLS or even HTML Table looks. The user can set further details for each of the above formats, such as field delimiters, different splitters and so on.

It is also the user who decides what amount of the total data present in the header of each indexed mp3 file will be also present in the resulting database: numbering, playtime, bitrate, filesize, stereomode, frequency, date of creation, path, drive and so on. As I assume you are already thinking, these are the criteria on which this list will be arranged. Depending on each user's wish, the resulting database (in whatever available format) can be graphically set up when using the background and text color options.

Another thing which also adds points to the working-qualities of Mp3 List Maker De Luhe is the fact that even the data you specified to be picked from the mp3 headers supports styles - date, size, stereo and VBR info - can be displayed in many ways. Along with sorting options and error-handling, all the above make a very theoretically-simple operation a very practically-complex one.

The Good

It's really good to have such a software and be able to print entire mp3 directories specs, especially in a radio, or party-DJ and such like. It is also very good that this software runs as fast as lightning and is highly reliable.

Another awesome thing is the excellent support the MP3 List Maker has on its webpage.

The Bad

I'll say nothing bad about Mp3 List Maker De Luhe, as I really couldn't find bad aspects. Neither have I fallen in love with it nor will I say bad things :)

The Truth

A small, fast and extremely easy-to-use software with a high-power indexing engine, built and optimized for mp3. It's definitely worth the money, so go get it!
