If I should name the one thing that upsets me the most these days, I think that "dust" would be the word. No matter how often I clean my house, it seems a battle lost from the start - this morning everything is clean, and by the evening I start spotting dust. Fortunately, the problem looks a bit different with my computer's innards...

Running a system cleaner is easier to do than cleaning my house, and this is what I want to talk about now. Today's system cleaning tool is called Secure Clean PC, and its latest version is labeled 2.2. Unfortunately, it's not free, but you can get the shareware version to try at any time. The setup package of this program has only 1.1MB in size and installing it is nothing more than a piece of cake. These being said, let's move to the interface and features, as usual, shall we?

This program's interface is just as the name says: clean, good looking and very easy to use. The elements of this program's interface are the menu bar, the toolbar, the wipeout groups tree pane, the information panel and the right hand menus panel containing the Details, Item, Web and Help menus.

If you think there's a lot to know about this program...well, you may be right but, as I said, using the program is very easy, despite the fact that it can clean a lot of tracks left by different programs. The area containing all the items that can be cleaned is the wipeout groups pane, and this is what we're going to explore next.

There are exactly 12 software categories that can have their tracks cleaned by this program, and these include Internet Explorer and Windows history, as well as some popular instant messengers, download clients, email and FTP clients, text editing tools, image tools and other software.

Since your precious personal information is stored on your computer and can become vulnerable, wiping it out is very important, so don't take any chances! We are human, so we are prone to forgetfulness, but computers don't forget. Schedule your cleaning tasks and you'll sleep better from now on! No, you don't need another program to do this for you, because Secure Clean PC can do it without much hassle. All you have to do is press the Ctrl+O keyboard shortcut, use the toolbar button or the item called Schedule from the File menu. Plenty of choices, isn't it?

The wipe settings can be exported and imported as needed, but I was disappointed to see that you don't get any options available, and I was looking especially for the wipe method selection...well, that's life, you can't always get what you want, so I guess we should check the conclusions and screenshots now, don't you think?

The Good

Secure Cleaner PC is an extremely useful program that can save your job, your credit card money or, in some delicate situations, your marriage. Even better, you don't have to be a computer specialist to use it!

The Bad

I expected some serious options available, and I wouldn't pay 59$ for a program that probably uses a 3-passes wiping method that doesn't make your data that hard to recover by the ones that shouldn't ever see it...

The Truth

As I have noticed, this shareware version doesn't seem to have any limitations, so you can try to use it for 30 days and see if this is worth your money, but I can only say one thing: I wouldn't buy this program in a billion years, because 59$ is way too much!
