Acer was one of the companies that launched several media attacks against Windows 8 and Microsoft, accusing the tech giant for trying to “destroy the ecosystem” with its Surface tablets.

J.T. Wang, the company’s chairman, has completely changed his view on the matter and now claims that the Softies are actually trying to help the PC industry.

What’s more, the Surface tablet doesn’t produce so much damage to the PC industry, he says.

“The sense of crisis is falling,” he was quoted as saying by the Wall Street Journal (subscription required).

“Even if they (Microsoft) are still doing the Surface, they do it cautiously and have become more considerate in dealing with partners in the ecosystem.”

Acer is also one of the companies that will continue to bet big on Windows 8 devices in the future, especially because it sees a huge opportunity ahead, most likely thanks to the Blue upgrade due this summer.
