Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 smartphone is a wonderful device, there's no doubt about it. However, there are a few things, most of them related to software, that the South Korean company needs to address.

First of all, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade is expected to arrive early next year, which is supposed to address most of the security issues in the previous versions of Android.

Marshmallow should also bring some improvements to battery consumption, while also strengthening privacy features.

Until then, it looks like Samsung is rolling out a maintenance update that fixes some issues that Galaxy Note 5 owners have been complaining about lately.

The update is about 144MB in size and is pushed OTA (over the air) in Europe. We can't confirm which countries have already received the update and which ones are now getting it, but we do know what changes it brings.

According to the official changelog, the update should improve the stability of Call. Also, battery usage optimizations have been implemented as well, so we should probably get more battery life after applying the update.

Last but not least, Samsung states that the update improves the security of Galaxy Note 5, but no additional details are given.

It's also worth mentioning that, after applying this update, you won't be able to downgrade to the previous version of Android due to changes to security policy.
