Sketch Drawer

Sketch Drawer is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help users convert their photos to sketches.

It sports a clean and intuitive layout that allows you to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort. Adding a file is either done through a drag and drop operation or relying on the browse dialog.

It supports a decent variety of picture file formats, so you’re able to process pictures under formats like JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG, ICO, TIF, TGA, PSD, PCX, and WMF.

Sketch Drawer offers support for batch processing, which means you are allowed to add the content of an entire folder to the list and process all images at the same time.

You can choose from different preset sketch effects (e.g. simple, light, high or low contrast, light colors, pastel), enable the hatching mode, adjust the edge strength (e.g. small details, light contrast, contour), as well as set up the colorization parameters.

The program gives you the possibility to preview the images, zoom in or out, undo or redo your actions, crop the selected area, and save the sketch to JPEG, BMP, GIF, MNG, ICO, TGA, PCX, RAS, PNM, SKA, or other file format.

During our testing we have noticed that the utility needs up to three minutes per photo to carry out the conversion task but provides excellent output results. It is not quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer may be hampered.

All things considered, Sketch Drawer proves to be a reliable application that bundles a handy set of editing tools and effects for helping you transform your photos into sketches. Thanks to its intuitive interface, it is suitable for all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
